The rock—it was no longer just a tiny pebble, it was Sasuke—was not being thrown at enemies or even dropped on them. It was being subjected to a cruel and unusual punishment in the form of a sauna after being pick up from a the battlefield. Sasuke lay among its kin, the largest rock of all, the centerpiece of the display, and above a stove that was constantly being stoked with firewood to keep the rocks heating up, only to be cooled by a spray of water in periodic intervals.
Sasuke was trapped and it hated it. It saw the [Ranger] standing indecently before it, exposing himself in all his white and furless glory, and it felt a new sense of anger. Sasuke was a true hero and it swore to escape this hellish situation and exact vengeance on its captor.
Sasuke began experimenting and testing its new skill, "Energy Shift." It was a curious skill, with many new variables unfamiliar to Sasuke, but it had a sense of potential. Sasuke focused on shifting its energy from one form to another.
With a cunning mind of a ninja, Sasuke began to experiment. After all, he was being heated up and cooled like a yoyo in a sauna. And every time the temperature shifted, Sasuke had a strange sense of energy. An energy he had never encountered before, all he knew was the relationship between mass and velocity - Kinetic energy.
But the sauna was different, the change in temperatures was slow, it took forever for the temperature to really move. So Sasuke never really noticed the true difference between hot and cold, until he was trapped in this chamber of terror.
Sasuke, the curious ninja, tapped into that energy with his senses and used his new skill "Energy Shift."

Sasuke shifted a tiny bit in place and then settled back, pretending to be just another rock. The sauna guy, the ranger, looked up, but dismissed Sasuke's movement as a crack in the rocks. Little did he know, Sasuke was plotting his escape, warming up and gathering energy to make his great escape.
The ranger was strong, a fierce fighter, but Sasuke was not to be underestimated. He had his own tricks up his sleeve, and he was patiently waiting for the right moment to make his move. The ranger threw more water, and Sasuke knew he had a few more moments to heat up and gather energy.
So it waited, measuring the increase in energy throughout its body, feeling a growing anticipation. The [Ranger] was strong, a merciless killer who had taken down a horde of goblins on his own. But Sasuke had methods of his own too.
The man reached for the ladle held within a bucket, then took it out, a measure of water within. He readied for a throw.
Sasuke used [Energy Shift], choosing almost all the temperature it held within, thrusting it all down like a sudden dip into ice.

He blasted out of the stove, scattering other hot stones around the room, aiming right at its trapped brethren. The [Ranger] had no time to dodge.

The man crumpled down with a whimper, his nether regions reduced to nothing, and Sasuke realized he had crushed the captive pebbles too. A kinslayer! But no title came of it, so Sasuke figured it was alright.
Then the experience came. Or tried to—but Sasuke held off, just for a moment.
Because he was starting to get clever.
He still needed to escape, stuck again as he was. But—he was helpless no longer. The carriage had received an engine.
Sasuke waited patiently in place, as the heat in the room gradually warmed him back up—not as hot as he had been before, just a fraction. But enough.
