Jiang Yang took the coffee mug from Jiang Yuyan's hand, threw it into the trash bin nearby.
"Your eyes are at the back of your head, too, Yuyan." Smiling, he commented and mumbled. "Why do I feel like that man is familiar?" Shaking his head, he moved forward while dragging his sister along with him.
As Jiang siblings entered the flight, they saw the men from earlier seated inside. Jiang Yuyan gave them a displeased look and moved her sight in the opposite direction. After checking the seat numbers, Jiang siblings sat in their seats, which was in front of these two men.
The plane finally took off, and after some time it was flying in the air. The air hostess finished with the safety instructions and served refreshments to passengers. These four were relaxed as they could catch the flight on time.
The flight they booked before had been canceled as there were some technical issues. So, they had to book another flight, but there were no business class seats available and they had to travel in the economy class.
"Yuyan, we are finally on a plane. I thought we would definitely miss it." Jiang Yang gave out a sigh of relief.
Jiang Yuyan was still upset. "It would have been better that way. Why didn't we miss it?" She looked at her brother, "You know that I don't want to go back to China and don't want to study there, but you are on their side. I hate you, brother!" She said, sadness clear in her eyes.
"It's not like that. You are taking this the wrong way. Our parents have always done things for our benefit. This time, mom was firm on her decision, and nobody could change it."
"I think education is just an excuse. They must have found someone they want me to marry. Otherwise, what's with the sudden change in attitude?" She still carried the frustrated expression.
"They will do nothing against your will, let alone marriage," Jiang Yang said with concern in his eyes.
Both were unaware that the men sitting behind could hear them.
"Boss, why didn't you say anything to them? It was not our fault. How could she talk to you like that? You shouldn't have stopped me," Assistant Xiao Min said with dissatisfaction.
"She is not someone you can deal like this." Saying, the man closed his eyes and leaned back in the seat to take rest, his lips slightly curved upward.
His boss's words confused the assistant, but before he could ask further, the man seemingly fell asleep. Though his eyes were closed, his full attention was on the siblings' conversation.
"They will definitely hook me up with someone," Jiang Yuyan said, not ready to understand.
Jiang Yang decided to tease her instead of making her understand. "They will not find someone ordinary for you. That person must be a third-generation rich family heir or CEO of a company," he said with a mischievous smile on his face.
"I don't want to marry any rich family's heir or CEO types," she said angrily.
"Huh! What... What is there not to like? Every single girl out there dreams for such a person." Her words quite surprised Jiang Yang.
"Brother Yang, I am not like those girls who run after money. I read lots of novels that these rich heirs are scary people. They always carry cold aura around them with no facial expressions… like they have a facial paralysis. They are scary, rude, ignorant, inconsiderate, stubborn, have no feelings, treat women like...Ummm like..." She was struggling for a word and looking here and there to get it.
Jiang Yang pointed to the water bottle in front of him and asked, "Water bottle?"
Jiang Yuyan shook her head, "No, brother!"
Then he pointed to the coffee mug in front of him and asked, "Coffee? Coffee mug?"
"Brother Yang! That's not it, either."
Then he pointed to the last thing left on the small tray in front of him and asked, "Tissue paper?"
"Yes, that's it! Tissue paper!" Her face reverted to her original expression.
"They treat women like tissue paper, use them as they please, and then throw them away," Jiang Yuyan said these words with a face full of rage. It was as if she was the leader of all women who had suffered under such men.
"You could have used a water bottle or coffee mug too, as they are also meant to use and throw," Jiang Yang said to annoy his sister, but she ignored and continued.
"You know, they can cause heart attacks by just staring at feeble-hearted women. They are always busy with work, have no time for family, look down on others…" all these words were said in a single breath.
Jiang Yang was almost worried about his sister and wanted to ask her to breathe when she stopped on her own accord. Her face was flushed as she gasped for breath. Then she continued.
"And there is more. They are—"
"Stop! I understand," Jiang Yang stopped her before she could say any more.
She stopped with a puzzled look on her face. Jiang Yang sighed in relief and was not in a mood to hear his sister's rant.
At the same time, the man behind them was listening to everything with his eyes closed. "She is still the same," he mumbled with a big smile, making his assistant amazed at the eye-catching view.
"Then, what kind of person you want to marry, my dear little sister?" Jiang Yang asked curiously.
"Someone who will love me to the core of his heart, ready to do anything for me, will only think about me, must be able to make me smile whenever I feel sad, and will always have all the time in the world for me," Jiang Yuyan said with a small smile on her lips but it was the forced smile pulled out in an annoyance.
Jiang Yang knew his sister didn't mean it as she can never think about marrying anyone, but he decided to play along.
"Other things are fine but having all the time in the world for you? Ummm... Then there is only one option.""And what's that, brother Yang?" she asked, anticipation clear on her face.
"You have to marry a beggar," he teased and was ready to observe her reaction.
"That's okay as long as he fulfills all the above criteria I mentioned." She was relaxed, and he asked, "Are you for real, Yuyan?"
"What's wrong with marrying a beggar? I will earn money, and he just has to love me and only love me. We will make lots of babies, I will work, and he will handle them—" his sister's reply dumbfounded Jiang Yang. With his eyes wide open, he could not say anything. He expected her to get angry but happened otherwise.
He stopped her and finally said, "Little sis, I lost, you won."
The man sitting behind was still listening to the siblings' conversation. His eyes were closed, but he had a wide grin on his face, showing his cute canines.
"Brother Yang, I am only eighteen and I have yet to so much in life and this sudden change of plan to come back to china disturbed my all the plans. Also, you know that I don't plan on marrying. This talk is just for fun."
Jiang Yang nodded and said, "Don't let the past affect you. Nobody will force you to do anything against your will. Our parents just want you to study business management. That's it," he said as he looked at her serious face.
"No, they want me to study because they think I could understand the business world after marrying a rich businessman." She looked sad as she continued, "Brother, you know me and my dreams better."
"It's not like that, little sis. Everyone knows you are a bright student with extra-ordinary grades and an excellent IQ,"
Jiang Yang said, pride flashing in his eyes but the next moment it replaced with the teasing smile and he said, "Well, that's a different thing, when I see your innocent and quite silly side, I wonder if there was any fault in your IQ test result."
As Jiang Yuyan gave him a narrowed eyes look, he suddenly changed his tone and praised her, "The business management course would be a piece of cake for you."
"But what about my interest?" Jiang Yuyan asked.
"Our parents are just expecting you to be a successful and happy person. Just bear with it for a few years. This conversation about marriage makes zero sense," he said to console her.
The handsome man sitting behind them was curious about her dreams. But Jiang Yang spoke up before the conversation could go further.
"Now close your eyes and take some rest. It was a tiresome day for us." She nodded, leaned back, and closed her eyes.
The handsome man was quite disappointed. After having dinner, everyone went to sleep.
The next morning, everyone got out of the airport and headed their way. Jiang Yuyan's sight passed by the handsome man, but she frowned and ignored him.
Jiang Yang, on the other hand, nodded with a smile, compensating for his sister's rude behavior. The handsome man smiled and nodded in return.
Outside the airport, a black Maybach was waiting. As the handsome man and his assistant reached the car, the driver bowed and greeted, "Good morning, President Lu," and opened the door of the car for him.
The car moved, and the man leaned back and stared out of the window. He suddenly remembered the girl's startled face and smiled.
"I will see you soon, Yuyan!" His eyes sparkled as he mumbled his words to himself.
——-
At the same time, another car was waiting for Jiang Yang and Jiang Yuyan. The driver got out and greeted them. Both of them sat inside the car and headed towards their destination.
After sitting inside the car, Jiang Yang looked at his sister and asked, "Still upset? Cheer up!"
Jiang Yuyan replied, "No! I am not."
"Then, why do you have a long face?"
"I thought about it the whole night. I know that I am wrong about our parents. I just said all those things in a fit of anger," she said, thinking about something.
"I know," said Jiang Yang, and his sister continued.
"I love them and will do anything they ask me to. And you are right, that marriage thing makes no sense. It's just that, mom was supporting my dream till yesterday and now suddenly she asked me to do something that I don't want to, even without giving me a proper explanation."
Jiang Yang nodded, "Yes! You are right, but mom always thinks ahead of us. Just trust her!"
Jiang Yuyan agreed, "I know, and I trust her, brother Yang."
"That's like my sweet sister." Looking at each other, both broke into smiles.
