This was the first sign of overexertion.

The overexertion caused by wearing the armour was totally incomparable with the earlier fatigue.

The moment their last bit of energy was depleted, their mental and physical states would undergo a tremendous deterioration. Not only would this deterioration render them immobile at that point in time, it would completely destroy their physical bodies - they could never live like a normal human being for the rest of their lives!
