When she tried to think back about it, Rachel did not recall ever seeing Kyle from the start of the attack until now!
At such an important juncture, did Kyle choose to only care for himself?
Even so, as someone who possessed such strength, would it hurt for him to at least come and check out how the situation was?
After all, if there was someone else with the strength of Anthony Pierce standing on their side, then perhaps they could really turn the tides somehow!
Or was she wrong about his skill level?
Her conjecture had come from his flawless spell execution, but in the end all the other party did was to summon some small pixies.
Was that really all that amazing?
No, this was not the time to think about such things!
The defensive enchantment on the ship could be penetrated anytime now. No matter how slim the chance, she still had to give it a try!
Otherwise if the ship were to fall, Rachel was pretty certain that she would be low on Anthony Pierce's priority list for people to save!
Setting her mind on it, Rachel quickly dashed out of the deck and back into the ship.
"Hey! Where are you going?" Samuel called out in surprise, only to receive nothing in response as the girl did not even bother turning back.
"Let her go! That useless trash probably just got scared. What shameful behaviour! If not for her looks, there was no way that I would have brought her along!" Anthony Pierce snorted in anger.
He was already boiling up within due to the failed defence, so he immediately grabbed the chance to vent out his anger, even if just a little.
Silently agreeing his father's words, Samuel no longer bothered about Rachel, instead turning his attention back to Anthony Pierce.
However, without a good plan in mind, he could only remain silent as he stood beside his father. As his son, Samuel knew better than anyone else that any thoughtless words right now would only act as a trigger for his father to lash out at him.

At this time, Rachel had made her way straight to the room where Kyle was staying.
Despite her slightly lacking magical talent, Rachel had a good brain, and had already memorised Kyle's room number. Though she was not familiar with the layout of the Oasis Seeker, it did not take long before she reached his door.
But upon seeing where the room was located, Rachel's mouth could not help but twitch uncontrollably.
A King Suite?
As huge as the Oasis Seeker was, there were only three rooms that were designated as King Suites, reserved only for the wealthiest of passengers!
These were rooms that were positioned right at the heart of the ship, doubly reinforced by enchantments so as to dampen all tremors and provide maximum comfort. Even just standing outside the door, Rachel could already barely feel the rocking of the ship.
But in exchange for this comfort, the price of getting the room was astronomical!
Even if he had to uphold his status as the Head of the Pierce Family, Anthony Pierce still could not afford to splurge on such unnecessary extravagance, instead choosing to take a room that was one grade lower!
Just what kind of person was this Kyle?
Rachel could not help but to doubt her own memory at this point.
Was this really the room of that same man who had stared at her apple with such desperation just a week ago?
Could it be that he was just that much of an apple lover?
But no matter what, seeing the room that he lived in, Rachel suddenly had a feeling that she had made the right decision in coming to find him.
She resolutely knocked on the door and waited…
No response.
Was he not in the room?
No, where else could he be if not in his room?
It was not as though the chefs would still be in the mood to cook at the restaurant right now!
The more she thought about it, the more certain Rachel was that Kyle must be inside. With that in mind, Rachel decided to keep on knocking until he decided to answer the door!
After almost three minutes of continuous knocking, her effort finally paid off.
"All right, all right, I get it already! Stop knocking! Damn it, it sucks to be so popular!" that familiar voice called out from within, though it was full of irritation from being disturbed.
Kyle hurriedly pulled open the door, unwilling to bear with the knocking sounds any longer. However, his irritation immediately faded upon seeing the beautiful lady on the other side.
"It's you?" Kyle was slightly surprised initially, but then he started to shake his head disapprovingly. "I should have expected this. But no matter how mesmerised you are, it does not seem too appropriate for you to take the initiative and immediately visit me in my room! Things are moving too fast here, and I need some time to mentally prepare myself…"
Hearing his words, Rachel could not help but feel a little regretful.
The heavens were fair after all.
This person looked good, was rich, and even seemed to be a skilled mage.
But despite his numerous advantages, the heavens had balanced it all out by deciding to make him such a weirdo!
After clearing her throat as though it could clear these thoughts of hers at the same time, Rachel decided to stop letting Kyle rattle on.
"Everyone is helping out with the defence of the ship right now! Why are you still in your room?" even without noticing it, her anxiety subconsciously caused her tone to sound interrogative.
"Is that so?" Kyle shrugged as he leaned against the open door, obviously uninterested. "Seeing that you can be here chatting with me, I guess things are going well?"
"Not at all! We need all the help we can get! You should be there as well!" Rachel was obviously angered upon seeing Kyle's reaction, but she tried her best to prevent it from showing.
"Me? Nah, I can't help at the moment, sorry about that. Better luck elsewhere!" Kyle rejected her without hesitation.
"What? But why?!"
"I am fasting and need to conserve my energy."
Rachel almost rolled her eyes at Kyle upon hearing that reply.
Fasting?
Really?
Even if he really was fasting, was it that much more important than the survival of the ship?
Then again, she did not fully understand the practices of higher level magi.
Could it be that he had undergone some unknown ceremony over the past week, resulting in him currently being bound by certain restrictions?
If that were the case, then fasting was probably just a cover story to hide his secrets. Probing any further would then be extremely intrusive.
After all, all magi have their own secrets to keep.
But unknown to her, Kyle literally meant every word that he said.
He only had gold coins in his possession, yet the food sold at the restaurant just had to be so damn expensive!
After having the apple a week ago, Kyle had decided to enter deep meditation to prevent himself from thinking about food. In a way, he was truly fasting at the moment.
While he could definitely go and lend them a little help, moving around so much would definitely trigger his hunger once more. In fact, that was also why he was reluctant to even open his own room door!
If it would not do himself any harm, then he might have agreed to it.
But he did not even know all these other people on board the ship, so why should he help them at his own expense?
Since he had already left the Master Realm, Kyle was also done fulfilling his end of the promise, and no longer had any obligations to restrain himself!
He might not be willing to fall to the level of stealing food, but he was no saint either.
On the contrary, the amount of lives that he had taken definitely counted more than the number of passengers on board!
Even if the ship were to fall, then so be it.
With his capabilities, Kyle was in no danger whatsoever even if the ship were to explode on him right now!
"You might have your reasons, but is there any way I can convince you to help? Name your price and as long as it is within my means, I will definitely fulfil your request!" Rachel suppressed her frustration and asked once again.
"Well, it is not impossible either!"
A sinister grin spread across Kyle's face when he saw the determination on her face. With how desperate the other party was, he would be a fool not to use that to his advantage and profit from the situation!
"W-What is it?" Rachel asked hesitatingly, a bad feeling rising up within her as she felt Kyle's greedy gaze fall upon her.
"10 copper coins! If you really want me to help, then you would have to come up with 10 copper coins as compensation!"
