But why were there questions about whether he was wholly human? And what was the matter with that sword that he picked up, at his wife's place?
Did all of this have anything to do with the contest for the Royal Throne? Or the strange magic from outside the Kingdom?

Seems like the usual protagonist without a clue in a small kingdom trying to make good. Just barely got a bit of a feel for the world so far. Will see how it goes.
