"You wanted to make me your follower?" The Black Spider of Calamity spoke, its voice a low hiss as it slowly stood up from Yun Che's energy-laden attack. In the eerie glow of its red eyes, Yun Che could sense both intelligence and a primal, otherworldly power. It was a creature unlike any he had encountered before.
Yun Che, catching his breath, met the spider's gaze with a wry smile. "More like a friend. You have a unique set of skills, and I must say, you're much stronger than appearances suggest."
The spider considered this proposition, its massive form almost looming over Yun Che. In its long existence, it had faced countless adversaries, but never had one extended an offer like this. "This is the first time a mortal tried to subdue me. For that, I might consider it," it finally responded, its voice resonating in the cavernous space.
Yun Che recalled the Azure Dragon's mention of the spider as a True God's existence. "How could a creature like you end up in this realm?"
The spider, as if grappling with distant memories, shook its colossal head. "I don't remember. All I could think about was my next meal."
Yun Che couldn't help but sweatdrop at the simplicity of the creature's motives. "No wonder the Azure Dragon threw you in here," he muttered. It became clear that the spider was an instinct-driven being, devoid of sanity and memories.
"However, meeting you, mortal, was the best thing ever happening to me. For the first time, I am delighted with my meal," the spider declared, its glowing red eyes fixed on Yun Che. The intensity of its gaze sent a shiver down Yun Che's spine.
Sweat dripping down his brow, Yun Che chuckled nervously, his heart pounding with a mix of anxiety and apprehension. "Well, using my energy as nourishment wasn't part of the plan, but as long as you're satisfied, that's all that matters now."
But before Yun Che could fully relax, the spider's ominous words pierced through the air, sending shivers down his spine. He barely had time to react before he was ensnared in a web of sticky silk, rendered helpless by the creature's unexpected assault.
"Ehh?! What is this?!?" Yun Che struggled against the strands of silk, but they held him firmly in place as the spider began to draw him closer, its intent unmistakably clear.
"You're mine!!! I was right. You're so delicious. The perfect meal ever!!! I am never letting you go. We'll be together forever!!!" The spider's jubilant proclamation sent chills down Yun Che's spine, his mind racing with desperate thoughts of escape.
"Oi...oi... Stop this at once!!!" Yun Che's protests fell on deaf ears as the spider continued its unsettling display of affection, its monstrous excitement growing with each passing moment.
As Yun Che's mind raced, a sudden realization struck him like a bolt of lightning. "Wait… did this thing just use me as a meal?" His realization was met with a sharp alert in his mind, a stark reminder of the dire situation he found himself in.
------------------
[Ding… Detected drainage in host's Spirit Force points.]
------------------
"What the…this thing... using me as it pleases. Wait…" An evil grin spread across Yun Che's face as a wicked idea formed. He pressed his free hand against the spider's head. "Wanted to use me as a meal, huh? Let me feed you as much as you want." Yun Che channeled his energy willingly this time, his eyes gleaming with dark amusement.
"You're giving me your energy for free? Choosing you was the best decision ever," the spider exclaimed with satisfaction, unaware of the trap it had fallen into.
"Ohh, it will be," Yun Che said, his sinister smile deepening as he continued pouring energy into the spider. With each surge of power, he felt a sense of twisted satisfaction, knowing he was turning the tables on the creature that had sought to devour him.
--------------------
[Ding… The Spider of Calamity leveled to Level 93 due to the host's unique energy.]
-------------------
"Fuuaahhh… That's enough. I haven't felt this full in years," the spider declared, its voice reverberating through the cavern, signaling the end of its energy absorption. However, Yun Che didn't heed its plea, a wicked grin stretching across his face as he reached for another vial, replenishing his own energy. "Ohh, don't be shy. Take some more," he taunted, adding even more energy with a mischievous glint in his eyes. The cavern echoed with the strange harmony of a mortal orchestrating an unorthodox alliance with a divine beast.
As the spider's form began to bloat uncomfortably, it cried out in distress, "No..stop… this is too much. Stop!!!"
"I thought you hadn't eaten in years. Take some more. I insist," Yun Che retorted, his smile turning sinister as he channeled more energy into the spider, ignoring its pleas. Just a little more, and it would splatter inside, creating a chaotic display across the arena.
"No..no... Please stop... It is too much!!! Too much!!!" The spider collapsed to the ground, foam forming in its mouth, unable to bear the overwhelming influx of energy. The webs around Yun Che weakened considerably, and he easily broke free.
Surveying the scene before him, Yun Che couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy for the spider. It had consumed his energy to its fill, likely fulfilling its greatest wish, and he had pushed it past its limits. If he were to engage the spider in combat again, it would likely react with aggression. Feeding it while replenishing his own energy using the mana potion had been the only way to bring it to its senses. Otherwise, the spider would have risked death from overindulgence—a case of biting off more than it could chew.
In the end, Yun Che hadn't killed it. But he had certainly taught it a valuable lesson.
----------------
[Ding… Congratulations on defeating the 100,000th beast: Level 93: The Black Spider of Calamity.]
[Ding... The host has passed the Second Trial.]
---------------
With that, a crystal fragment slowly fell from the sky and floated before him.
---------------
[Ding… The host has obtained the Second Fragment of the Dragon God Crystal.]
[Ding... 2/3 crystal fragment obtained. One more to go.]
---------------
"Yosshaa!! One more, and I'll have that inheritance." Yun Che decided to remain seated, his gaze fixed on the unconscious spider before him. It may have been a questionable tactic to defeat it, but considering its potential to level up using his energy, he deemed the spider worth keeping. After all, it was a monarch-level creature; having a monarch ally could prove invaluable.
A low grunt from the spider indicated it was slowly regaining consciousness. As it blinked its eight glowing eyes, its vision cleared to reveal Yun Che's grin looming before it.
"Sup?" Yun Che greeted casually, his grin widening.
"You!!!" The spider recoiled instinctively, a newfound wariness evident in its posture. It had learned the hard way not to underestimate the man who had outwitted its voracious appetite.
"Now…now... Let's reflect on the consequences of biting off more than you can chew. You may grow stronger with each encounter, but your Achilles' heel lies in your inability to temper your hunger. The only way to neutralize you is to feed you an abundance of energy. Lucky for you, I've got plenty to spare." Yun Che's tone remained nonchalant as he raised his hand, imbued with a radiant glow of Spirit Force. The spider eyed him warily, realizing it had met its match in more ways than one.
"No…No… I don't need it anymore. Please... No..." The spider pleaded, edging away from Yun Che with palpable fear. It understood that should Yun Che wish to end it, he could easily overload it with Spirit Force until it burst—a fate even its High-Speed Regeneration couldn't forestall.
Yun Che's smirk turned mischievous as he continued his playful charade. "Don't fret. I was merely teasing you. If you desire sustenance, all you need to do is ask politely. But let's not repeat the whole binding scenario, shall we? Unless, of course, you enjoy being filled to the brim like that."
He paused, his gaze locking with the spider's multifaceted eyes. "So, what's your verdict? Are you still willing to follow me?"
The spider regarded him, its crimson eyes reflecting a mixture of hesitation and curiosity. "Even after all that, you still want me to follow you?"
"Yes, part of me is intrigued by your formidable webs, but beyond that, I see the potential for friendship," Yun Che's grin widened, genuine warmth in his eyes.
"My webs?" The spider's curiosity piqued.
"A monarch-level spider like yourself can produce webs sturdy enough to craft durable clothing," Yun Che elaborated, his gaze alight with anticipation. The prospect of obtaining such materials for his companions, Shirayuki and Kuroyuki, sparked excitement within him. Moreover, Retsu and Nemu could utilize the webs in combat, enhancing their arsenal even further.
The spider let out a resigned sigh, acknowledging that Yun Che's interest in her webs was to be expected. Compared to the bleak prospect of languishing in the realm without sustenance, the idea of forming an alliance with Yun Che held far more promise. "If you're willing to sustain me with your energy, I'll gladly trade more of my webs with you. For millennia, I've been stranded here—devoid of sustenance and companionship. If accompanying you offers a better alternative, then I willingly offer myself as your companion."
Yun Che's relief was palpable upon hearing the spider's acceptance. He couldn't help but clap his hands in excitement. Facing the spider once more, he posed his next question eagerly, "So, how do we go about forming this contract?"
"I'm sorry, but I've never formed a contract with anyone before," the giant spider admitted.
Yun Che sighed, realizing that forging contracts with Divine and Profound Beasts required a different approach altogether. As he pondered his next move, a notification from the System interrupted his thoughts.
------------------------
[Ding… The System can help you with that. Forming a contract with the beast is simply binding the beast to the System. When the System binds the beast, it possesses the same privileges as the host's summoned companions. However, this spider has a unique way of leveling up but can also use the same methods as the host's companion.]
[If the System binds the beast, the host can choose the beast's appearance, regardless of gender or race. The host can only bind one beast for every 25 levels. Best to choose carefully.]
-------------------------
Yun Che nodded thoughtfully, fully aware of the gravity of this moment. His current level at seventy granted him the ability to bind not just the spider but also another divine-level beast. However, he decided to defer the consideration of the second choice for later. Right now, his focus was on the spider before him, a creature whose loyalty and potential he sought to harness.
As he contemplated his options, a sense of urgency washed over him upon receiving a notification from the System. He couldn't afford any missteps, especially when it came to shaping the spider's human form. The last thing he needed was to envision a male spider leering at him during mealtime—an image he found too unsettling to bear. Thankfully, the System offered him the freedom to sculpt the spider's appearance into something far more palatable.
"System, how do I begin the contact?" Yun Che inquired, his voice steady despite the underlying sense of determination and caution. He was ready to embark on this transformative journey, knowing that the choices he made now would shape the course of their future together.
-------------------------
[Ding... Place the host's hand on the beast's head and allow the System to tap into its consciousness. Then, the System will reshape the beast into a human form according to the host's criteria and desire. You can create a template for the spider's human form.]
-------------------------
Determined, Yun Che turned to the spider, his gaze steady. "So, Spider of Calamity? Are you willing to serve me as a companion?"
There was a moment of silence before the spider responded, its voice tinged with a hint of longing. "My clan ceased to exist thousands and thousands of years ago. Since I was trapped in this realm, I have long forgotten what it meant to have a wonderful family. I am more than willing to serve you, master."
Yun Che raised his hand to the spider, a thoughtful expression on his face. "Uhh, please don't call me master. It's a little bit cringe and odd. Just Yun Che will do."
"Is it not to your liking? What about young master?" the spider suggested, eager to find a suitable term.
"No, just Yun Che will do," he insisted, his tone firm yet gentle.
"Then, by your will. I shall serve as your friend and companion from now on. Master Yun Che," the spider acquiesced, bowing its head respectfully.
"Like I said, just Yun Che. Ahh, forget it," he sighed, before proceeding to explain the method of communication to the spider. As it listened intently, curiosity sparked within it, especially regarding the hidden power within Yun Che's body. Yun Che, in turn, shared his knowledge with the spider through his unique abilities.
After absorbing the information, the spider nodded in understanding. "The System seems to be a powerful primordial force in your body to accomplish such a feat. I never had my human form. If my master shapes how I look, please shape me according to your desire, master. Someone strong should be fitting when serving you in the future," it said respectfully, expressing its willingness to adapt to Yun Che's preferences.
Closing his eyes, Yun Che focused his thoughts, allowing himself to be transported to his inner world—the realm where his deepest desires and creations could take form. As he stepped into this ethereal space, he was greeted by the sight of an endless sky stretching above and a calm sea extending below, a canvas awaiting his touch.
Surveying the features before him, Yun Che pondered over the task at hand. How should he shape her? The possibilities seemed boundless, yet he knew that this decision was crucial. This creature, once the fearsome Spider of Calamity, now sought to take on a human form—a form that would reflect not just her appearance but also her essence.
An idea sparked within Yun Che's mind, triggered by the name 'Spider of Calamity' that resonated with him. Recalling a character from a manga whose beauty and style matched the spider's personality, he decided to bring her to life in this realm.
With a determined nod, he transferred the image of the girl from his thoughts to the features before him. As he watched, the System began to weave its magic, sculpting her face, crafting her attire, and shaping her alluring figure. With each detail that took form, Yun Che couldn't help but marvel at her beauty, which surpassed even the portrayal in the manga.
"She's perfect," he whispered, a sense of satisfaction coursing through him as he beheld the masterpiece before him. In this moment, he knew that he had created something truly remarkable—a reflection of the Spider of Calamity's true essence in human form.
"System, transfer this form to the spider. And while you're at it, can you also impart the Japanese language and culture to her?"
With his request made, Yun Che awaited the transformation, eager to see the results.
------------------
[Ding... Form accepted. Beginning to shape The Spider of Calamity's human form.]
------------------
As bright lights and swirling smoke enveloped the spider, Jasmine couldn't help but wonder what Yun Che was up to now. This trial seemed to be full of surprises, and she had lost count of how many times he had astonished her. Resigned to the unexpected, she braced herself for whatever was to come.
When the brilliance subsided, Jasmine and the Azure Dragon were left speechless, their eyes widening at the sight before them. Yun Che, upon opening his eyes, was greeted by the presence of a woman emerging gracefully from the dissipating cloud of smoke, her form taking shape before them.
"I will serve you for life, my master Yun Che," she declared, her voice carrying a sense of unwavering loyalty and dedication.
As the ethereal lights and swirling smoke dissipated, a woman emerged, gracefully descending to the ground before Yun Che. She knelt and bowed her head in reverence, her presence exuding an air of elegance and humility. Upon closer inspection, Yun Che couldn't help but marvel at her striking appearance, realizing that she resembled the image he had envisioned.
With captivating yellow eyes and lustrous black hair framing her delicate features, she possessed a serene beauty that captivated him. Her smile was enchanting, her skin smooth and flawless. Despite her shorter hair, styled in a chic cut just below her ears, she exuded an aura of sophistication and refinement. A red headband adorned with a butterfly accentuated her graceful demeanor, complementing the luxurious black and red kimono she wore with elegance. The intricate butterfly pattern on her obi and the spiderweb motif on her hakama hinted at her dual nature, a fusion of elegance and power.
Yun Che was astounded to see this refined and elegant figure before him, realizing that she was none other than the mischievous spider spirit who had once threatened him. Yet now, her demeanor was gentle and humble, a stark departure from her former self.
Slowly lifting her head, she met Yun Che's gaze with a sense of gratitude and determination. "My master Yun Che, thank you for granting me a new life and allowing me to find peace within your care. For the first time, I feel a sense of joy and purpose. With this human form, my mind is no longer clouded, and I can remember my past and pledge my loyalty to you. I am here to serve you faithfully, dear master. Please accept me into your care."
Her words resonated with sincerity, her voice soft-spoken and timid, embodying a newfound sense of loyalty and devotion. It was a remarkable transformation from her former self, leaving Yun Che both surprised and intrigued by the depths of her change.
Yun Che composed himself before bowing his head respectfully. "Please take good care of me as well. Ummm, do you have a name?"
The woman lowered her gaze and shook her head gently. "I never had a true name before. I was always known as 'The Black Spider of Calamity'. For so long, I yearned for a name of my own."
"Then, why don't I give you a name? Since you're now a part of my family. How about a cute name?" Yun Che suggested with a warm smile.
The woman's eyes widened with surprise. "Family? Yun Che, I am just a servant. There's no way…"
"No, everyone who stands by me is family. I couldn't treat you as just a servant. You may have startled me at first, but now you're bound to me; and anyone bound to me is family," Yun Che insisted firmly.
Tears welled up in the woman's eyes, overwhelmed by the sudden surge of emotions. This human form was a gift beyond measure, granting her the ability to feel and connect. "Family? *Sniff. I've never had one, not even in my life as a spider. You're the first to ever call me family."
Yun Che smiled warmly as he knelt before her, gently patting her head. "There, there... And I've thought of the perfect name for you. A name that reflects your loyalty, your beauty, and your spider-like nature. From now on, you shall be known as 'Mio.' 'Mi' for beautiful, and 'o' for your intricate threads. Together, it signifies 'beautiful spider thread.'"
"Mio, then I shall humbly accept it as my name from now on. I dedicate my entire existence to serving you, my lord," she declared, her cheeks flushing with a healthy glow as she accepted her new identity.
"Eheee... I have a true name now," 'Mio' now, spoke, his hand gently cradling her blushing cheeks as he repeated her name over and over again.
"Mio~~.... Mio~~" She echoed her name in a playful, cutesy manner, her eyes sparkling with joy, while Yun Che watched on, a soft smile gracing his lips at the endearing sight.
"With this, I shall devote myself to serving you, my master!" Mio proclaimed with unwavering determination, his resolve shining through in his words.
"Please stop that. Yun Che will do. If you prefer, you can call me Yuuki as well. That's an order," Yun Che spoke, unaware that the word 'order' awakened something odd within the spider girl.
"Oh my~~~, an order?" Mio said while shivering excitedly, making Yun Che a little bit uncomfortable. It looked like this girl still retained her perverted antics.
Then, she continued, "Yuuki? As in 'snow'?" When she turned into a human, Yun Che knew the System uploaded the Japanese language system and culture into her head, making her speak in a natural phase as if the knowledge was implemented inside her head long ago. Besides, he was comfortable having another to talk to in his language.
Yun Che replied with a smile. "Yeah, it's my real name, though. Yun Che is just my alternate name in this world."
"Bestowed a name by the master and given his real name. Does this mean the master trusts me with his life? Does this mean you trust me as a spouse? My~~~…Yuuki-san," she said while slowly daydreaming with her radiating smile and cute giggles. Then, Mio giggles as she daydreams about Yun Che spending the rest of his life with her.
Maybe she could have children with him? Grow old together? Fight together as a couple? Lovers? A married couple? So many possibilities in her mind, unaware that she was ignoring him.
"Maybe I could call him Danna-sama? Does it mean 'husband' in his language? My~~~ how would he feel about it?" Mio spoke internally.
Yun Che rubbed the bridge of his nose, seeing her antics, and said, "That's not it. Mio, are you even listening?"
Mio snapped out of her trance and said, "Did you say something, Danna-sama?"
Yun Che suddenly stopped, observing Mio's happy behaviour with a mix of amusement and concern. "She even changed how she addresses me. Never mind. I have no qualms with this as long as she's happy." He sighed, acknowledging her daydreaming of a future with him. While he didn't mind being called Danna-sama, he couldn't help but wonder how Retsu and the others would react to Mio's newfound affection.
He hopes they're okay with it.
"Ahh, being fed by Danna-sama's energy. I won't refuse you if you wish to make a move on me in the future. Danna-sama. No, I am hoping for it," Mio declared, her voice laced with determination as she displayed her alluring figure to him, lost in her fantasies once more.
"Hai...hai... Stop your daydreaming. You escalated things too far," Yun Che sighed again, attempting to bring Mio back to reality. He couldn't help but anticipate Retsu's reaction to Mio's bold declarations. Surely, there would be some scolding in store for him later on.

"Damn, she's a darkness cultivator? If this were known, she could be hunted by the world. By the way, I am fortunate to have her as a friend. She's even a true god like me," he said, unaware that he had been staring at Mio for some time.
"Danna-sama? Why are you looking at me like that? Do you want to take me that much? I need time to ready myself," she said while holding her cheeks with both of her hands.
He sweatdropped and turned his head. "No..no... Let's go. I'll introduce you to my friend."
"Friend?" She said, confused and flaring her jealous aura at the same time. Yun Che sweatdropped as the template included the personality matrix of the original Mio as well. The original Mio was well-known for her jealousy. He hoped that this Mio didn't have the tendency, or else he might have to witness a fight between her and Retsu.
"Yeah, she also acts as my master and trains me to achieve what I am now." As he said that, he slowly floated above the ground, activating the Profound Flying Technique.
Seeing his capabilities, Mio started squealing, "Waa... Danna-sama, You can fly?"
"Yeah, all creatures in the Sky Profound Realm can fly. You can as well. Right?" He asked her, but her answer differed from what he expected.
"I can fly? I never flew before. I use my spatial abilities to move. Sky Profound Realm? What is that?" She said while pointing her finger under her chin, making a thinking pose.
Yun Che looked at her with widening eyes. "She doesn't know how to fly and can't even gauge her strength? Damn, even a person like this exists in this world."
"Sigh, we spent too much time down here. I will teach you how to fly later. For now…." Yun Che slowly flew behind her before gently taking her into his arms. She was shocked but didn't resist as he slowly shifted her into a princess or bridal carry. "Danna-sama!?"
"What? You can't fly. So this is the only method I could think of," he said with a relaxed tone, aware that he was carrying her in his arms. He never expected Mio to be so light.
Seeing him not at least excited, she sighed, "Mou… Danna-sama... At least let me prepare myself."
Then, he suddenly had an idea to tease her a little. "If you want, I could piggyback..."
"No!! I am okay with this," she said while trying to hide her excitement and hugging him close. Yun Che gave her a cheeky grin, aware that this girl greatly liked him. He didn't know whether she liked him for his energy or himself, but he decided to let her settle her feelings.
Using his chest as a pillow, Mio made herself comfortable. She never knew there was a spot so comfortable. She'd make sure to ask him to carry her in the future. "Danna-sama's smell and warmth. Huaaa... I am in heaven. Please carry me more in the future," she wished internally.
"Danna-sama, if we got married in the future. Please carry me." Mio wished silently and Yun Che blushed when he heard it but he chose not to reply her yet.
Carrying Mio in a bridal carry, Yun Che flew towards the top of the tower, and the second trial was now over. Now, what's left is the third trial.
The barrier separating the tower from the trial zone was gone now that the trial was over. When the man and woman arrived, Jasmine and the Azure Dragon feasted their eyes on the woman Yun Che brought from the trial zone, more like carrying her like a bride.
"Great work out there. By the way, who in the world is this?" Jasmine suddenly asked, her tone carrying a hint of curiosity mixed with a slight sting.
"Ahh, this girl? Believe it or not, she is now the Black Spider of Calamity. But you can call her Mio," Yun Che introduced Mio to them while setting her down, much to her disappointment.
Mio rearranged herself and regained her composure. "I am Mio. I am serving Yun Che as my master. I may not be perfect. Please take care of me," she introduced herself while bowing to them.
The Azure Dragon congratulated him. "Reaper, I don't know how you do it, but you managed to subdue the Spider of Calamity into your side. I am more than impressed. Congratulations on passing the second trial."
Mio was suddenly irritated as her memories with the Azure Dragon resurfaced. "Hmph, I won't forget you sealed me here for how many years. But for my master, I am reluctant to let this matter go."
The Azure Dragon instantly argued, "You!! You were dangerous at that time. You should be grateful this dragon didn't kill you back then."
"Letting me starve to death and being left on my own?!? Why should I be grateful?" Mio countered.
"You attacked anything out of anything back then. You even attacked and ate your own clan members. You killed a lot of dragons! I had to seal you here as you were stronger than me back then."
"I was hungry. I had to eat something." Mio wanted to argue with the Azure Dragon again, but Yun Che patted her back, subduing her anger. Yun Che, however, sighed, as this Mio was the same as the original Mio, who was even willing to eat her clansmen if they were incompetent.
"Sigh, there... there... Mio. Let bygones be bygones. I can feed you anytime you want. You're free now," Yun Che said while calming her down. Mio turned her head towards him, and her smile returned.
Regaining her composure, Mio returned to her calm and ladylike mode before saying, "My deepest apologies, Danna-sama. Mio will forget what this lizard has done to her. She is now satisfied that she had the best meal in a long time." Mio didn't forget to shoot a glare at the dragon.
"Hmph.." The Azure Dragon grunted at her.
Yun Che immediately brightened the awkward moment. "Ehem, by the way. This girl is Jasmine. She's my master and my best friend. She's also the one who trained me."
Mio shifted her sights to Jasmine before bowing at her. This woman was the one Yun Che regarded as his friend and master. She had to show proper respect. "Nice to meet you, Jasmine-san. It's an honour to meet you. I am Mio." She smiled brightly.
Jasmine was dumbstruck seeing this guy subdue the Spider of Calamity itself. How in the world did that happen? "The honour is mine. How in the world did he subdue a creature like you?"
Mio suddenly blushed before she answered. "My~~~~... Danna-sama fed me with lots and lots of his energy. It's so delicious that I passed out from it. Even after I passed out, he continued feeding me even more until I was a slave." As she narrated her story, Jasmine was slowly getting uncomfortable.
"All right, stop! If you continue, you will give her a misunderstanding," Yun Che shouted before slamming her mouth shut.
"But, Danna-sama. Isn't that what happens? I am addicted to it. You fed me until my stomach bloated." Mio slowly said with an innocent expression. Her face even grew red as if he had done something perverted to her.
"No, it's not!!! Jasmine, you won't believe her story, right? Jasmine?" When Yun Che looked at her, her bangs covered her eyes, and her cheeks grew red. He sensed a great misunderstanding on her part.
She slowly approached him and shouted, "You lecher!!!!"
*KNOCKS
Yun Che winced, still feeling the sting from Jasmine's punch. "Guuuaaarrkkk!! You damn midget!! What was that for?"
"That's for sullying another girl," Jasmine accused, her voice firm.
"I did not!!! Mio, I didn't sully you. Right?"
"Hai, he just fed me with his energy," Mio said with an innocent expression.
"Then, I misunderstood him." Jasmine turned around as if nothing happened.
"You sure don't look sorry," he doubted, rubbing his sore jaw.
"Problem?" Jasmine shrugged at his statement. Usually, Mio would feel slightly angered when Jasmine knocked him, but this time, she giggled. Despite their bickering, she knew Jasmine did it to gain his attention.
Yun Che sank to the tower's floor with a tired sigh. "Sigh, Forget it. I am too tired to do anything right now. Feeding Mio took most of my energy."
"Hai, your energy is just like nectar, Danna-sama. I won't mind receiving it again," Mio said with an excited smile.
"You, I am not sure I am comfortable being looked at as food, though," he sighed again. Then, Jasmine suddenly spoke up, diverting their attention.
"So, now, can you tell me?"
"Tell you what?" Yun Che asked, still a bit perplexed.
"Quincy and that bow of yours. Bows can only fire one arrow, maybe two at one time. That weird bow of yours makes other bows look like a joke," Jasmine pressed on, her curiosity piqued.
The Azure Dragon chimed in, "If you won't mind. This dragon is curious as well." Yun Che knew the dragon had asked many questions about him, and had Jasmine explain them. He just let the dragon know, as this was its last soul. Mio kept quiet, equally intrigued by Yun Che's mysterious blue-like energy bow and arrows.
He took a deep breath before launching into his explanation. "Sigh, fine. As I said, Quincy and Shinigami are the Spirit factions back in our world. Shinigami utilize spirit energy to form Zanpakuto Spirits, but Quincy use it to form spiritual weapons. Quincy are living beings that can detect the existence of Hollows and other Souls. Most of the Quincy were exterminated by the Shinigami to prevent the world's collapse due to the Quincy overhunting and destroying all Hollows they encountered. Quincy is the polar opposite of Shinigami. They don't use Zanpakuto but use those Spirit Weapons as a method of fighting. However, their powers aren't weaker compared to a Shinigami. But, both factions disagree about the realm's ruling. We had our differences back then, but in the end, Shinigami took the mantle of ruling the realm. As for the 'how' method, you can guess it."
"War," Jasmine interjected, recognizing the echoes of conflict in his tale.
"It happened thousands of years before I was born. The remaining Quincy fled into the realm of the living and hid for the rest of their lives. Some lived as a hidden clan or empire. Shinigamis didn't see them as a threat anymore, and it became peaceful once the leaders of the previous Shinigami passed on. Both sides coexist peacefully." He paused, recalling the turbulent history of his world, and the sudden emergence of Yhwach, threatening to shatter that peace.
Continuing, he said, "So the bow is Quincy's standard spirit weapon. Each Quincy has their unique fighting style. Some of them conjured a sword, spears, or even a bow. It depends on the talent of Quincy. Most Quincy prefer using bows, though. So, now you know general information about Quincies."
Jasmine nodded in understanding. "So, you have both Shinigami and Quincy bloodlines. Hoyuu was right. You are a cheating monster."
"Yeah, two bloodlines. But I haven't trained any of my Quincy abilities yet. The only thing I got is that bow," Yun Che explained. He hadn't fully delved into his Quincy heritage, focusing more on his Shinigami training. He made a mental note to explore his Quincy abilities when he had the time.
"That still doesn't explain the nature of that bow of yours," Jasmine pressed on, her curiosity still piqued.
"Oh, that's the second evolution of my Kojaku. I call it the Ginrei Kojaku, or Silver Sparrow. It can fire 1200 arrows per second. Moreover, it uses the spirit energy in this realm to replenish the arrows, so I didn't have to use my energy. If there's no spiritual energy, I must use my own," he explained while summoning the Ginrei Kojaku into his hand.
Jasmine's eyes widened in amazement. "1200 arrows per second? No wonder you covered the whole realm with those arrows. Why didn't you use it to fight Mio?"
"Mio had spatial abilities and could hide within space, avoiding the arrows I threw at her. Moreover, my strength isn't enough to produce an arrow strong enough to pierce her body, and did you see how she ate my Evil God's third art just now? She devoured it like it was nothing," Yun Che explained, recounting their recent battle.
"Ehehe, Danna-sama's energy at that time was delicious, and I couldn't help but eat it," Mio chimed in with a playful tone, reminiscing about her feast.
"So, I had this wild idea of bloating her with my energy until she explodes, but where else can you find a beast getting stronger by eating your energy? So I decided to keep her and turned her into a yandere type anime girl," Yun Che revealed, his voice laced with amusement. It was an unexpected turn of events, but one he seemed to have embraced.
Jasmine had gained a rough understanding of Quincy and his Ginrei Kojaku just now. She thought that the bow was created using his haki, but it turned out to be one of his other bloodline capabilities.
"Last question, how did Mio turn into a human? Can a contracted beast retain its original form?" Jasmine inquired, seeking clarification.
Yun Che pondered for a moment before responding, "Ahh, the System handled that for me. It said that any beast contracted to me would become a human if it didn't have its human form." The Azure Dragon listened intently, intrigued by the mention of this mysterious 'System' that seemed to wield great power.
"What about Little Phoenix? Shouldn't she attain her human form too?" Jasmine further inquired, referring to the phoenix residing within Yun Che.
"Little Phoenix is part of my soul, and she's not a contracted beast. So she retains her original form," Yun Che clarified.
With their questions answered, Yun Che turned to the Azure Dragon. "Now that's done. Hey Azure Dragon, it's about time to begin the third trial, right?" He was eager to move forward and complete the trials.
The Azure Dragon, still processing the revelations it had heard, finally spoke up. "As for the third trial, Soul Reaper, you have passed."
A sense of accomplishment washed over Yun Che as he absorbed the dragon's words. It seemed that each trial had brought its own challenges and revelations, but he had overcome them all. Now, he could only wonder what awaited him in the final trial.
As punishment for being late..I am giving you two chapters. I had this thought about making Mio his follower. If you are curious on who she was, read this manga "TSUKI GA MICHIBIKU ISEKAI DOUCHUU".
