Capítulo 22: Confrontation
Fan Lingxin and Tang Xinyue fell through the floor.
"Aahhh!" Fan Lingxin screamed, her mouth facing Tang Xinyue.
Li Xia watched calmly as they landed on the mattress. Even though it was quite high, the mattress managed to absorb most of the force.
He walked towards the two. Fan Lingxin had her head buried in the mattress, while Tang Xinyue faced away in shame.
"Come here." Li Xia creased his brows as he grabbed Tang Xinyue's hand and dragged her to the other room.
Fan Lingxin raised her head cautiously, only to be shined on by a flashlight. The guards on the attic pointed the torch downstairs.
Fan Yazhu and Fan Zhihao raised their heads slowly, their pupils contracting as the gaping hole in the ceiling entered their sight.
The siblings continued to eat on the dinner table without a care for what just occurred in the adjacent room.

Li Xia glared at Tang Xinyue, who looked at the floor.
"Tell me - why are you here?" Li Xia cut to the chase and asked her in a straightforward manner. He tapped his foot impatiently, waiting for an answer from the woman in front of him.
"Well, you see, I..." Tang Xinyue really did not know how to explain the situation to him.
She did not want to drag Fan Lingxin into this, so she fell silent as she tried to think of excuses.
"...How did you get in in the first place?"
"That, uh, it's... I entered the backdoor." Tang Xinyue came clean.
"That's not what I meant. The mansion is surrounded by a wall - how did you get in?" Li Xia wasn't satisfied by her answer and continued pressing.
"I, uh... exploited a crack."
"So, you're trespassing?" Li Xia always felt that his childhood friend was troublesome, but not to this extent!
"...Yeah, basically." Tang Xinyue shrugged with a nonchalant expression on her face.
"Why?"
"This... I can't tell you."
"What were you doing in the Fan mansion?"
"Okay, okay, fine. I was spying on you two." Tang Xinyue could not think of any excuse she could give this man.
Li Xia looked at the woman in front of him blankly.
He let go of her hand and walked away, leaving Tang Xinyue behind.
She saw this as an opportunity to escape. After all, the two guards stationed at the front gate currently weren't there.
"And.. go!" Tang Xinyue ran outside, with nobody noticing a thing.
Afraid that she would be caught, she sped up.
"Taxi!"
Tang Xinyue entered the taxi and asked the driver to take her to the address of the Li mansion.
