A hand wrapped itself around my neck and lifted me up into the air. My arms immediately went up and tried to pry off the death grip, but everything seemed useless. With my mere strength, how could I even hope for success?
"Please." I managed to force out while I struggled for oxygen. Tears started to fall down my cheeks, even though I tried to act strong.
"Please, don't..." My heart hurt so much when he treated me like this. It was even more painful than the lack of oxygen and the feeling of dying.
Just as I was about to faint, I felt myself falling down. Greedily, my lungs filled themselves with air in haste, in case they would never be able to experience it again.
When I had finally ceased my heavy breathing, I started to take notice of my surroundings. What I witnessed broke my heart further.
She was hugging him from behind and had placed her hands on his chest. Her eyes shone brightly as she kissed his neck as if to calm him down. And he didn't remove her from himself. He let her do as she pleased right in front of my eyes. There was even a hint of a smile on his otherwise cold face.
Another teardrop fell down, as I closed my eyes to prevent further damage to my soul. My hand clutched the fabric over my chest and shook severally, as I silently cried in agony.
Why? Why?!
--∆--
"Why?!" I screamed in pain and opened my wet eyelids.
I was disoriented at first, but then registered that I was in an unknown place. It was very dark, but I could still barely distinguish mold growing on the stone walls and the ceiling. A tiny window was letting some light leak into the place, but it was barely noticeable. The room was otherwise empty of furnitures.
The sight of the dirty state of the room caused my body to twitch, which caused me to realize that I was tied up to a chair. Firm ropes bound my wrists and ankles to the armrests respective the legs of the chair.
"What the...?"
Suddenly, I recalled being knocked out in Sasha's house.
"Sasha?"
I writhed to escape the ropes, but whoever tied me up knew what he was doing. Still I kept going for a while, until the sting was getting too much for me to continue.
"Damn it." I cursed out in dejection.
"Release me, you piece of shit!" Someone screamed out. It sounded like a female and was approaching the room.
Suddenly, the door in front of me opened slowly with a creak. A dark figure walked inside the room with something large over its shoulder. Since it hadn't walked into the light, the appearance wasn't distinguishable. The person dropped the weigh on his shoulder and a painful groan was heard.
"You can't treat a lady with more respect?"
That voice...
"Sasha, is it you?" I had to ask, even though I was almost certain.
"Mel?"
"It's me." I nodded first before I recalled that Sasha probably wouldn't be able to see my action anyway.
"Damn it. Not you too."
"Shall we begin?" A cold masculine voice sounded out as the dark figure approached me.
"Who are you? What do you want?" I threw out my questions as my heart started to beat faster.
"Don't touch her, you son of a bitch!" Sasha screamed and squrimed, but was otherwise not able to move from her spot on the ground.
"If you want your friend here to remain unharmed..." The man had now stepped into the light. His countenance and outfit caused my mind to freeze.
Dark short hair, sharp cheek bones and blue cold eyes were the strong characteristics of his face while the unmistakably dark suit and cloak revealed of his identity. He looked like to be in his early twenties yet was probably way past that period.
"...You better start singing." He was now in front of me and dragged my chair under the light. He then let his unnaturally cold index finger glide along my cheek.
It was him! It must be him. Even though the eye color was different from the crimson red eyes I remembered from the alley, everything else matched.
"Otherwise..." He paused as his hand wrapped itself around my neck, which caused my eyes to widen in fear while my body became momentarily paralysed.
"Wh-what do you think you are doing?" I stuttered, but was ignored.
"...I will rip off your friend's throat right in front of you." As he concluded this, I felt nails growing before they felt extremely sharp against my skin. If I dared to move even a little, my flesh would probably be cut open.
"S-Sasha?" I couldn't keep the shaking in my voice. Why was this vampire targeting my best friend? She didn't even seem to remember herself being attacked by him. "Wh-what does he want from you?"
"I..." Sasha seemed hesitant to answer. "He wants to know where my last almost one-night stand is."
"Mr. Shameless?"
"Yeah..." Sasha admitted.
"Why would you know that?"
"Well, I don't." A small change in her voice when she answered betrayed her lie to me. Hopefully, the vampire didn't notice.
"Are you sure, hunter?" The vampire threatened as I felt his claws dig into my neck a little and draw out blood, which caused me to wince in pain.
Who was I fooling? Of course he would.
"Please stop!" I and Sasha begged at the same time.
Did he stop? Nope.
Instead the nails went in a tiny bit deeper, which amplified the pain and the blood loss.
Crap, crap, crap!
"I really don't know, so please cease it immediately!" Sasha still attempted to keep up her lie.
The answer was an increased pressure against my neck. Blood had now dyed my entire neck in red and my expensive leather jacket was now ruined. Not that I cared at the moment, since I had greater worries to place my energy on, such as escaping this perilous situation. Though, my hope wasn't placed high.
"Stop! You are killing her!" Sasha sounded panic-stricken.
I was starting to feel faint and wondered how much blood had truly been lost. One litre or maybe two? Either way it was very grim for me.
"Fine, I will talk! Please just stop!" Sasha finally screamed.
It's been some time since I last updated. I apologise for that ☹️
