After she had watched her father's second-in-command and Mr D'alessandro Evelyn stood up after some while and walked out of the office to relay the information to the family.
Everyone was sitting in the living room and the atmosphere seemed tense which meant that they had seen the ex Mafia Boss walk out of her office.
Now they were all wondering what kind of meeting she would conduct with him.
"What was that?" Her uncle, Giuseppe, stood up immediately. "What was a man from the D'alessandro family doing hair? What kind of meeting did you conduct with him?"
"Business." She answered immediately, not waiting to beat around the bush. "I conducted a business meeting with him."
"Well what kind of business meeting?" Marco, her cousin, spoke up. " We are waiting to know what meeting it was that you conducted with that man alone."
She wanted to scoff at the allegation he thought he could discreetly put on her while the others watched. She was naive, she agreed in this world but not as much to realise what allegations were being put on her.
"The meeting was not conducted by a loan. Antonio, my father's second-in-command, was with us." She informed him with a pointed look. "Do not try to put any such allegations on me ever again."
"He won't," Julio; his father gave the boy a pointed look, "but you have to tell us what happened in there, Evelyn."
That was going to be tough. The vultures were going to hear the information that she was going to give to them.
She took a gentle breath. "My father before dying signed a contract with Mr Alessandro regarding the organisation. It was clearly stated that he did not have any intention to leave the organisation to me and hand it over to his friend." She explained in simple words.
" What?" Aunt Natalia stuttered out in shock. " What did you just say?"
Evelyn nodded to her confirming the words she had heard. "You had it correct and. My father did not leave me anything other than the profits that I would receive from the organisation."
"No-no control over the organisation?" Giuseppe muttered as he stared at the girl in shock. "He gave you no control over the organisation? You have no control over it?" Through his hands in the air by the time he finished talking. Evelyn only nodded in return.
"That is true uncle. I have no reign or control on the organisation. It completely depends upon how Mr. Alessandro wants to operate it."
The room fell into silence as everyone heard what Evelyn had said. To every man that was a leader and had an organisation to leave behind he would after marry his daughter into a family to a second or third son or it would be handed over to the first cousin but that did not happen in this case.
Carlo Bianchi had left them nothing.
"N-nothing?" Pablo stuttered, "nothing to any of us!"
Evelyn shook her head but did not appear to be sympathetic with their situation. She was getting her profits which was going to be more money than she needed.
"Evelyn, did you not even try to fight the man?" Natalia shouted at her. "how could you let that man take away what your father built up with his sweat and blood!"
"My father signed it away. I did not do anything Aunt Natalia." She answered but no one heard that.
Marco scoffed, " he did not even fight. She let him take everything that was ours!"
Evelyn found at what he said. Had he not heard her? Her father had not given her an option to hand it over or not if she wanted. He has signed the deal that after his death the organisation would be in the hands of another leader.
"But you should have fought harder! There has to be some kind of clause that you could find out or a loophole. You could not just hand out an organisation to someone else!' Natalia shrieked at Evelyn who stepped back.
Evelyn gave a glance to every person standing in the room before addressing them, "I will not ask any of you to leave. However, the day after tomorrow I have my flight out of the country."
She turned around and walked to the stairs before she felt someone pull her hair back.
"How dare you?" Giuseppe growled in her ear. "If you think that you can discard us and I am about to prove you wrong, girl."
Evelyn could piss her pants at the moment. This was the reason why her father had handed over the organisation to someone else.
