I went back to my office after lunch, and sighed when I saw my door now laying on the floor. I kept no documents here as of yet, the mis-writes being burned immediately. I looked around to see if any other damage had been taken to the room in my absence. The bookshelves were empty, but they had never been full. My desks drawers we're laying on the floor and paper, pens, paperclips and ink bottles lay scattered, smashed or ripped to shreds. I groaned and then walked straight to the desk of the lady who monitored our comings and goings. She should have been here as her lunch was after us, so whoever she let in my office had done this. And only workers or aristocrats could come into this wing of the castle. Needless to say trashing my office is a big offense, and she would at least be fired for negligence since she knew I wasn't here, and most probably wouldn't be coming back. It wasn't the maids, they cleaned yesterday and should be handling the Diplomats wing.
"Kara." Her head jerked up when I spoke and she smiled at me.
"Who did you let in my office?" She flinched and I knew she knew exactly who had been in here.
"What are you talking abou-" I cut her off.
"Do not play dumb, I am not stupid. You were here the entire time I was away, no one could enter without you seeing them. I could have had sensitive documents, your crime may be capital because of this! Tell me who you let in!" When she shook her head I stormed to the entrance where two guards were posted.
"You two, there's been a crime!" I snap harshly and they both straighten as they looked at me. The dup were Regnus and Lupis, I knew them because they tried to bar my entrance one day, and I beat them pretty badly for trying to hurt me. When the King heard of it he only laughed at the incident, so no one was punished. Needless to say the boys were scared of me. They jerked inside quickly and I ordered them.
"One of you, capture her, she is an accomplice. The other run and tell your Superior to send guards here. My office has been ransacked this can be severe." One sprinted off immediately while the other stumbled before grabbing a loop of rope he had hanging from his side to tie the lady up. She attempted to run, but failed and was captured quickly.
"Check her mouth, make sure she doesn't have a capsule of poison in her mouth." They checked, and she did. I tapped my foot as I slowly explained everything to the guard still here.
