I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed. I didn't expend any mana yesterday, but I was feeling a bit tired after dismantling the beasts.
Damn my VIT! A measly 5… how am I meant to survive?
*gggrrrrrurghg*
Well, that was embarrassing. That's the first time my stomach has growled so loudly in all 4 lives. But it's not like there's anyone around to hear it, right?
I know just the right thing to eat. Yesterday, I managed to carve out around 200 kg of Tri-horned Tiger meat. Eating it will boost my VIT permanently!
The problem is fire. I am not about to eat Tiger meat raw. The 'Bonfire' Utility magic would be useful, but there is no kindling around to start a fire with.
Ah! I have an idea. I take out a couple of the Tiger bones from my inventory and start my Bone Manipulation skill.
I could feel something draining out of my body, but I ignored it for now and focused on the task at hand.
I willed for the bone to change into an easily flammable material that can burn for a long time. There is no such material in real life, but Bone Manipulation doesn't need to be based on something in reality.
Suddenly, I could feel myself becoming faint. I guess I used too much mana. The bone isn't even half converted! This is going to take a really long time.
I reached into my inventory and grabbed all 5 of my Mana Potions. Gulping them all down, I continued changing the bone.
Luckily, the bone itself was big enough to provide a decent enough fire for roasting a piece of meat.
By the time I finished, I had already stopped and waited for about 6 times.
[Mana Regeneration LV2 learnt.]
[Mana Regeneration LV2: Regenerate mana quicker than you normally would.
+1 mana every minute.
The rate of recovery increases as level increases.]
With this new skill, I can fully recover my mana in two hours' time.
I also noticed that by expending all of my mana, I can increase my MP capacity. This time, it had increased by 10 and reached 130 MP.
I'm quite proud of it, if I do say so myself.
Finally, with a fire ready and roaring to go, I skewered the piece of Tiger meat onto another bone and made a makeshift spit roast.
As it cooked, a rich and meaty aroma surrounded me. It felt as if I was being surrounded by tigers who were rubbing me with their furs. It felt so nice!
Alas, I quickly awakened from my delusion. Who would want Tri-horned Tigers to cuddle up to them?
The smoke dispersed, and the meat was finally ready.
Now, it's time for my first meal of this life!
I bit into the roasted meat. The juices came pouring out, forming a flavour explosion in my mouth. Since it was roasted with no condiments or spices, it actually allowed the natural flavour of the meat to shine through.
The gamey taste and the slightly sinewy texture proved to be very addicting.
In no time at all, I finished the piece of meat and received a notification from my system.
[VIT increased by 1.]
'Ed, how much meat did I just eat? What's the rate at which I gain attribute points?' (Daniel)
'Since it's uncommon meat, the rate is 1 point every 20 kg. I'm sure you can figure out your first question now.' (Ed)
'Indeed, I can, Ed. Thanks.' (Daniel)
But that's ridiculous! How did I eat 20kg of meat so casually like that? A normal steak is at most 300 grams!
*shiver*
This must be the meat which leaps through time!
Indeed, when I checked my inventory, I noticed that I only had 180 kg of Tiger meat left. How absurd! I should probably pay more attention next time I eat.
Anyway, now that my stomach is fully satisfied, it's time to train.
'Oi! Aren't you forgetting something?' (Ed)
'What? OHHH!! I should make the bones into armor and training implements, eh?' (Daniel)
'Are you sure you and your dog haven't merged?' (Ed)
'Screw you!' (Daniel)
This Ed is really annoying when he does stuff like this. Why did I have to get stuck with a sentient system?
'I heard that!' (Ed)
Yep, let's ignore him. Now, onto my training implements.
First of all, I think I should make a bench press and a squat rack. I can use the bones of the Tiger and the Lion for this, since my armor should be made of the shell of the Purple Death Scorpion. I asked Ed about it, and it seems exoskeletons are considered bones as well. Makes sense, right?
The bench press did not have any weights. If I wanted to adjust the weight, I would just directly increase the weight of the bar. The squat rack was the same.
After that was done, I needed some dumbbells, a wall and a step-up platform.
I wanted to do a HIIT workout so that I can increase my stamina and my VIT. Only after that would I be able to do proper strength or fighting training.
'Ed, do you have a shop or anything like that?' (Daniel)
'Nope! This mighty system has nothing but a lottery and enhanced learning. Why?' (Ed)
'I wanted a good workout regime… I guess I'll have to think of one.' (Daniel)
'Hold up there, partner! What do you take me for? I have experienced many a world and helped many weaklings to the apex! I have all the training techniques you could want!' (Ed)
'Oh! Then how do I improve my stamina in the shortest time possible?' (Daniel)
'By training.' (Ed)
'You know what, you really are useless. I'm just going to train by myself. I don't even know why I asked you.' (Daniel)
After all, I have a lot of information on training from my past lives. I won't go into specifics since that would be boring, but my training routine was very harsh. However, it did its job.
Day by day, my stamina was slowly increasing. Once the attribute reached 10, I started strength training.
Every day, I would increase the weights and break my limits. Only by doing this would I be able to get stronger and fitter. Whenever I got tired, I would drink a bit of the Holy Spring Water before continuing again.
A week passed by. I had already finished all of my Tiger meat, and I was onto the Lion meat.
My status was now like this.

I had yet to make my armor from the Purple Death Scorpion Shell.
My base was also starting to look good as well. There were bone structures around everywhere, and the firepit was now pretty much a permanent thing.
The daily flammable bone manipulation had managed to increase my mana capacity to 170 from the original 120.
The constant use of Bone Manipulation had increased its level, and the mana consumption had reduced a little.
I had also unlocked a new Utility Magic spell, Duster. As the name suggests, it would clear the dust off items. However, it was actually a spell that warded off dust. Effectively, the item upon which Duster was cast would have a barrier that stopped dust from reaching it.
Seems like a waste of barrier magic to me, but since it's the only type of magic I can cast right now, I'll take it.
New chapter! Like I said earlier, I don't expect this novel to do well.
However, I probably won't drop it unless I can't get any ideas.
World building will happen soon (tm).
