A giant asteroid ring filled the horizon, occupying a vast area of the void. White sparkes shined as the main star of the region illuminated everything around it.
At first, it seemed like a desolate stone desert, without any signs of life for thousands of light-years to come. However, traveling deeper inside the colossal rocky structure, loud sounds echoed throughout space.
Yes, sounds could be heard in this place since trillions of minute particles of stone filled the air, collaborating to sound wave propagation.
Such an atmosphere was quite curious since it was one of the few that could bring some kind of disease to the god race. If an individual lived to much time in such an environment, the small particles of stone would slowly start to penetrate his body, petrifying it from inside-out!
Following the loud noises, one would encounter large clean areas where hundreds of men worked constantly with dark obsidian pickaxes, glowing all over as they used their energy to form thin protection against the deadly silent particles.
In such places, many kinds of people could be found. There were free people, people that became slaves due to dept or defeated in a duel, evolved mortals who were sent there to work for their masters, criminals and many more.
Yet, although all the diversity, every single one of them was here to mine that abundant grey rock: Smooth Smithing Stone. Despite its simple name, such material was crucial for the forging of Artifacts, no matter what type.
The reason for this was its special properties, capable of forming a consistent alloy with pretty much any material. For example, let's suppose that a great Artifact Engineer wanted to forge a sword out of a very scarce and super rare mineral.
Using only that mineral would be very wasteful and expensive, practically impossible to go on with the project. However, with the aid of the Smooth Smithing Stone, a high-quality alloy could be obtained, maintaining almost the same properties of the rare mineral as before!
Also, it could successfully combine multiple minerals of large power harmoniously!
As such, with the passage of the years, every smith in the universe used such resources as mortal used water. However such actions resulted in its gradual dissipation throughout the Regions. Nowadays, such mines like that one could only be found in the borders of the universe!
Therefore, its ton was finally gaining some value throughout the universal market. Obviously, most of the mines were strictly controlled by huge Artifact Engineer factions, turning mines like these a rarety.
Not fare long after the mining area, there was a mid-scale city floating amid the huge asteroids. It was very busy, as hundreds of spacial portals were opened and closed per second and tons upon tons of the refined metal left that desolate location to travel and spread throughout the North Region.
In a flash, next to one of the city's entrances, a small scale spacial portal opened up and closed sone after, leaving behind two men. One of them was a tall domineering youngster, letting out a secretive royal aura. Also, he had a little white dragon sleeping on his left shoulder.
As for the other, he was pretty more reclused, using a dark hood. However, a powerful murderous aura was secretly controlled inside that slim figure. These were Hammed and Luke.
"Master, will we head straight to the Portal Area?"
However, ignoring Luke's question, Hammed was in a daze as he observed all the floating asteroids around him. Being a quite skillful Artifact Engineer himself, he recognized the nature of those rocks in a glance.
Curious about his master's actions, Luke also scanned his surroundings carefully, letting out some killing intent.
"Master, is there someone spying on us?"
Giving a small smile, Hammed once more turned around to Luke.
"Relax! It's just that these rocks are a very special material for smithing! It's a pity we probably can't have them for now..."
Paying attention to his master's word, Luke was genuinely confused about the situation.
"But master, as a prince yourself, couldn't you just claim everything here as yours?"
Giving a little smile, Hammed began to explain the rules his father placed upon him, treating him as a commoner outside the clan's domain.
As such, the duo slowly walked through the city entrance and paid a minimal fee in High Time Stones (HTS). After their adventure at that ancient ruin, Hammed made quite a profit from mining HTS. Considering the currency of 2:1 of High Time Stones to High Faith Stones (HFS), Hammed's current wealth should be around 100 million HFS.
Now he was officially much richer than any of those old Great Elders of some noble clans in the Star God Empire!
Such a condition meant one thing: He could finally start building up a faction of his own!
The city's streets were full of life. All around some men played various musical instruments joyfully, others took care of small particular tents were they sold and bought any thing a stranger could buy or offer, some simply seated there in meditation, understanding their Laws and increasing their cultivations and much more.
However, there were also lots of more formal shops, taverns, brothels, clan residences, mining company's main headquarters, and other things. Yet, usually the most famous places of cities, in general, were the restaurants.
Although Gods were immortal and did not need to eat or sleep to maintain their lives, the boredom of the years was such that these habits practically became part of the general culture of any group of immortals.
As such, the Cook office was highly regarded and valorized, amounting to as one of the homogeneous big factions of the universe. There were some famed Restaurants that even Emperors like Hammed's father needed to show respect and behave well.
Also, these were one of the best places to gather information of great importance in a city. As so, Hammed and Luke slowly crossed the city, heading to a giant pavilion at the Center Area, next to the City Lord's residence.
One had to now that even the weakest City Lords of an Empire were figures at the Half-Step King God Realm. Clearly, they were an extremely powerful person on a regional scale and in good terms with the Royal Family.
Therefore, usually, the whole city would develop around such a figure's residence, concentrating everything it had to offer in a spot.
The pavilion was named Heavens Delight Restaurant. It was a well-known attraction in the North Region for its exotic dishes as so as the other "services" it offered in great style.
Entering the huge building, the duo was finally intercepted by two gigantic guards with some strange features. From what it looked, they were evolved mortal creatures from a titan race, not from the God Race.
Standing at the entrance, they were unshakeable, letting out an aura of Peak Ascending God cultivations.
"Forgive me for my abruptness Sir, but I'm afraid you can't enter!"
Althought Hammed did not notice, he and Luke forgot to change their clothes after the last expedition, so now they were looking pretty much like beggars.
Suprised, Hammed looked the guards in their eyes, letting out a heavy aura. However, such aura was not from his cultivation, but his powerful Evil God bloodline.
Attacked by such powerful intent, a cold shiver went down their spines and they were about to go down to their knees when a frightening cultivation aura came from behind, rapidly lessening their burden.
"Hi, there! It's quite rare to meet such powerful guests from outside town! Please follow this humble servant so that I can show you around!"
From behind the two giant guards, a mid-aged man slowly walked in Hammed's direction with a welcoming smile. However, Hammed was not fooled by such good manners, as his back was soaked in cold sweat.
Seconds before, when his bloodline aura was suppressed by that man, Hammed found himself at a lost since he simply was not capable of determining the mid-aged man's realm!
Certainly, that man's cultivation was on par with the King God Realm! Humble servant my a*! That guy could probably kill him with a swing of his finger!
But since such did not happen, Hammed managed to maintain his imposing posture as he also gave a smile to the man and slowly followed him together with Luke. By the way, Luke was okay since he did not even notice the aura exchange: Oh how it was good to be blind to such things... Hammed almost had a heart attack!
As they went on inside the fancy building, the mid-aged man had a curious expression on his face as he led the way.
"Humm... what an interesting youngster! He must be at most in the Peak Ascending God Realm and held his ground against my aura... And what powerful bloodline aura... I should notify Master of such good sapling later!"
