That feeling that eats away at the physical body. The increased heartbeat, slight trembling, mood swings that come as if a different person resides within, and the lethargy that lingers afterward. What price did the diabetic have to pay to be human? It is like gambling once it starts it is hard to slow down. The hunger, thirst, drowsy feeling from too much refined sugars or increased sugar in bloodstream. The cost...it goes on. The feeling of floating while still standing, feeling drunk from glucose crashes. Sleepless nights hoping to feel better but knowing it would take time. What is the cost that a diabetic experiences? Trust me it isn't easy. It can be unnerving at times but let me be honest with you, it can be fun too. The memories, the change of pace, acceptance that what will take place will make one feel better, that my friend is what gives hope to a diabetic. A diabetic experiences a fluctuation of levels 24/7. With diabetes, it is like marriage. The choices that are made influence the relationship between the diabetic and the condition. Whether they be good or bad decisions it will be a reflection of the overall health of the diabetic whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual.
