"We're here." Lillian exhaled after a two-hour drive to the Grand Canyon. They rented a car and had a professional driver to give them a ride. With the help of Lillian's friend, they were able to reach the rim, which allows the tourists to see Nature's beauty. The time was now 5:00 PM.
Lillian and Lucy, they both arrived safely to the Grand Canyon, the fourth mission on their date agenda.
"Wow" Lucy stepped out and gasped; looking at the view and the majestic scenery.
"It's not even the sunset and you're already gasping, calm down woman." Lillian teased her.
Both of them carried a small backpack with the essentials such as water, protein bars, sunscreen lotion, and their mobile phones. Lucy took out some chocolates and then packed them along with the essentials.
"Chocolates?"
"Don't judge me. I have my own needs." Lucy replied coldly. These huge chocolates added extra weight to her backpack. However, she required them for the ride to view the sunset.
"Fine. Hold my hands." Lillian looked at her. She stared deep into her eyes, it looked as if her eyes can communicate her feelings directly. Lucy blushed. She reached her hands out, held them together with Lillian and both of them walked towards the viewpoint. The place was packed with only a few tourists and some local people. It wasn't crowded today. So, everyone took their time and picked their location to sit down and enjoy the view. Lillian and Lucy picked their location next to the tourists, who seemed to be from Australia. The newly-wed pair were there for their honeymoon. They greeted the ladies and had a chat with them. After few minutes, the sun slowly went down and the color began to spread out like a painting on the sky. When the bright yellowish-orange sky once lit up people started to take pictures and videos. Few of them just sat down and enjoyed the moment, while others were busy taking selfies.
"Ms. Lillian Grey, can I take a picture with you?" Lucy elegantly spoke with her husky voice.
Lillian turned around and saw her face. The air was filled with love and romance. Not to mention, Lillian was a bit turned on seeing Lucy looking at her romantically.
"Sure, my queen." She responded to her desire.
They both took a few pictures and then rested down. Lillian was hot from the little romance. She was parched.
"Here, drink some water." Lucy moved close to her and handed over her water bottle.
Lillian got flustered. She drank the water to calm herself down.
Lucy giggled at her girlfriend's reaction. She then gave her space to sit freely. Lucy picked out the chocolates and gave them to Lillian.
"You know I don't eat them." Lillian refused politely.
Lucy refused to give up and picked one from the bunch and handed it over to her girlfriend.
Lillian understood the situation and accepted the chocolate. She heard it from Lucy herself somewhere before. "Lilly, I wanna eat chocolates with you while watching the sunset." Lillian reminded her wish. She ate the chocolate happily. They both enjoyed the view together. As the sun went down further, the sky turned to pinkish red. It was a breath-taking moment. Some of the couples kissed each other. It was the moment when nature acted as a wingman. Lucy saw those couples. She moved an inch closer to Lillian, locked her hands with her and lied on her shoulder.
"Lilly" Lucy called her.
"What?"
"This is the best date I've ever had. Thank you."
Lillian smiled. The smile represented the feeling of satisfaction that she felt after a long time. Remembering how long it had been since she felt this happy and loved. It reminded her of the past. Slowly, the smiled went away. Her eyebrows narrowed, looking deep into the pinkish sky. The face of a shy innocent girl appeared. The face looked at her with a big happy smile and love in her eyes. However, the expressions on the face changed instantly one after the other. Finally, the face turned around and vanished into the sky, which is now filled with dark and turned black. The pain still lingered in her heart, thinking about the face of the innocent girl. The pain from the past.
Lillian's heart was in pain thinking about the girl from her past. But, now she had a girl by her side who made her remember that past. She took a deep breath and exhaled loudly.
"The is bad," Lillian whispered to herself as she kissed Lucy on her forehead.
