Capítulo 23: Mysterious New Ability
Tao Xue stood up, and left his room. He was in very high spirits, this time. If anyone saw him from afar, they'd think of him as a rather normal and enthusiastic youth, but he was actually quite laid back. As his family members knew about this, they were quite surprised to see this sudden change. His personality was completely different, compared to the previous him. He was feeling refreshed, like a completely new person.
He went to the dinner table, where all his family members were sitting, and announced, "I'm a half level Cultivator!"
Just as he said this, there was a completely emotional and stupid drama, which involved tears, snot, and congratulations, the three of them together didn't make a good scene, especially for Tao Xue, who again had a change of attitude. He was back to square one, with his previous attitude re-installed in him, once again.
The next day, when Tao Xue walked to school, he told Ling Shen and Ju Yuan about his unexpected breakthrough, and they talked about it all the way to school. Now that they were half level Cultivators, they had stepped on the first step in Cultivation, which was something to be proud of.
At school, now that everyone in the Mind Cultivation class were half level Cultivators, they would start practicing.
Teacher Bao Tan said, "Now that everyone here is a half level Cultivator, I will teach you how to utilize the energy of the Heaven and Earth, and guide it into you brain, making you a level 1 Cultivator. This will take some time, though, because you will have to fill your whole mind in the energy, so that you can become a level 1 Cultivator. For doing this, after you have sensed the energy, connect it to your brain, absorb it, transform it, make the energy your own. The whole concept of Cultivation is to make the energy of the Heaven and Earth your own, so that you can utilize it. Utilizing the energy of the Heaven and Earth is what all Cultivators do, any they can't utilize it unless they don't make it their own. This is why, you all should first absorb the energy, direct it towards your mind, where your brain is, immerse it inside your conscience, understand it, transform it, and then finally, utilize it. And by utilizing, I mean, use the energy to refine and improve yourself. When you keep on practicing, changes will slowly appear on you. All of your senses will be greatly enhanced, and your thinking capability and capacity will be greatly increased, too. These symptoms appear as you change, and when you have a breakthrough to the 1st level, you will feel the changes happening to you to be very drastic. From today onwards, start Cultivating in this manner, until you start feeling some changes. Even if they are little, tell me."
Upon hearing this, the students started their Cultivation. Now that they were half levels, they were just a step away from becoming a 1st level Cultivator. As the excitement swelled them up, they sat down and began Cultivating. The whole day passed as they all Cultivated peacefully. The state that they were in was very profound, as they didn't even wake up when teacher Bao Tan started snoring loudly, when he was sleeping.
Throughout the whole day, none of them had made any progress, but they had gained deeper insights on Cultivation. They has started to understand Cultivation more deeply. They could freely sense the energy, but they still couldn't guide it towards their mind, but they had gained new knowledge regarding Cultivation.
This routine kept going on for a few days. As it turned out, it wasn't easy at all to become a Cultivator. They still couldn't find the correct path so that they could guide the energy towards their mind. They all started having terrible fears that they'll be stuck at the half level of Cultivation for the whole season, and would fail the examinations. It had been three weeks since they had started the season, and as for Tao Xue's bunch, the year, because this was their first year in the 4 Seasons Academy. There were also going to be various events, and if they didn't meet the qualifications, they wouldn't be able to participate. Not even the geniuses who were the first to become half level Cultivators had even found out a path for the energy to reach their mind, body, or soul. Some of them were totally out of control, and had even decided to practice all day and all night long, which would give them more time to practice, but they too, failed to accomplish this. They had no idea as to why they weren't able to progress any further in their Cultivation, but they still didn't lose heart.
They kept on Cultivating, and soon afterwards, some people had started to guide the energy towards themselves, and absorbing it. They had finally started the real Cultivation. As for the others, they were still stuck at where they previously were, and they couldn't find a route to guide the energy to themselves. After another week, quite a lot of the students had found the route, and had started Cultivating. Tao Xue, however, was not a part of those lucky students. He didn't find a way to connect the energy to himself, as he seemed that it enveloped his body in such a way, that it was stuck. It didn't move farther, nor did it get absorbed. It remained there, as if it was a piece of clothing. Tao Xue couldn't understand how to guide the energy towards himself, but he found out another way to do so. If he had the energy wrapped around himself, it meant that he could move it, just like if you are wearing armor, it will move along with your hand. Similarly, the energy could be used for making a shield around him, or even to attack, as he figured out that he could change it's shape. He could feel the energy at the front of his palm getting collected in the shape of a long, sharp blade. He then smashed his hand into one of the walls of his room, and sure enough, there was a pretty big hole. He then shaped it like a glove, and hid himself on his hand with a rod, but the rod broke in two parts. As he kept learning, new insights popped up in his mind. It was as if he had discovered something that no one else had ever done previously. He found out that he could shape the energy as he wanted, and make it denser, if he wanted to do so. He studies for a bit more, and then realized that he could give the energy physical forms. This intrigues him a lot, and he kept up with it. As he kept going on, he realized that this was a limitless and boundless ability, as he had gained deeper insights on it. He found out that there was another advantage to his ability. That was that he could extend the amount of energy he used, which proved to be another great advantage to his cause. Other than that, he didn't even tire himself out even if he kept doing this for his whole life. It was as if he could freely control the energy of the Heaven and Earth. He felt that he shouldn't tell his family about this now, as if he did, they would all pester him, and he figured that he would go to teacher Bao Tan, and show this to him personally, when no one, not even another student is around him, which would be something really bad. They would all start crowding around him, if they see such a rare and mysterious ability. Even though he didn't want to accept it, his ability sure was something extremely special, and also mysterious, to a certain extent.
After testing out his ability for a while, Tao Xue walked up towards the hole in his room, and said, "Man, this is a nuisance! I'll have to think of a way to fix it before someone else gets to know about what has happened here!"
