"There was no one around." She remembered checking the area and scouting for people. There was no way someone could have spotted her.
"Take a seat." Wes went over to a chair to sit directly opposite from where Syra sat. "You see, my guard is a Minsho. You are an Irrang, correct?"
This didn't make any sense, if his guard was a Minsho then why didn't he stay with Lily and protect her. Why didn't Lily know about this guy? "I'm not an Irrang."
"You can't fool me, my guard saw you." All of this seemed a little too unreal for Syra.
"Where was your guard when you promised your wife you wouldn't leave her side? What about you? Where were you? I don't see why I have to answer any of your questions." Syra was about to leave when a man appeared, he had a red mask and his piercing yellow eyes reminded her of someone she knew.
"You know where my wife is?" Syra didn't say anything. She wasn't about to take him to Lily, he definitely didn't seem to be the man she had described. "Please, I need to find her. She is about to have my child and I love her."
Syra could see the sincerity in his voice. "My guard was spying on my mother the night that Lily ran away. Lily was always afraid of my mom and now I know why. If you take me to her I'll stay with her, never come back to this place. Please."
Syra hesitated, Lily did love her husband but something didn't feel right. "How are you a Minsho? I don't believe I have met you before."
"I don't share my heritage with people." The man with the red mask kept his hawk eyes on Syra. She wasn't sure what it was about him but even though there wasn't anything particularly scary or evil about him there was a certain flirtation with darkness.
Syra wasn't about to allow this man to find the village in the outer rim, he was clearly not from there. "I will take you to Lily." She turned back to face Wes, arching an eyebrow to enphasize the seriousness of the situation. "But only you. Your child has already been born. I would like him to be as safe as possible."
"Him? It's a boy." Wes jumped to his feet with joy. His wife whom he missed so much gave him a son. "Take me to him. Please. Kizuato, stay here. Watch over my mother and father, report back to me when with the messaging flower."
The man with the red mask bowed before making his way out the door. "Are you sure you trust him?" Syra was very curious about that man, it was surprising that he would be so obedient to Wes. He may be paying him but there was a lot more underneath that mask.
"With my life, I met him when I was just a boy and he has been by my side ever since."
Syra didn't question further, they left the City of Worstal together and traveled east to the outer rim. "She's in the outer rim?"
"Your wife thought it would be the perfect place, no one would assume that she would be here."
"Did you know my wife before she ran away?"
"No." Syra and Wes stepped through into the ashy dark land. The moon was completely over there heads as it was past midnight. "I found her when I was on my way into the inner rim to pick a few flowers for my husband."
"Aren't you a little too young to be married?" The girl was no older older than her brother, most girls nowadays married at a reasonable age instead of wedding as soon as they bleed.
"I married the person I love as I am sure you did as well."
I am curious why Kizuato made an appearance as a body guard.
