Loud footsteps echo throughout a stone hallway....
The footsteps continue for a long while, before slowing, quieting, and eventually stopping at a large hall. The hall was made entirely of stone, with glass windows and skylights. Decorating the interior was a long, dining table, with nothing atop it, and a large stone throne with a man seemingly in his twenties speaking with an adolescent likely no older than fourteen. The one the footsteps came from was a young adolescent with chin length black hair, partially covering their right eye, black cargo pants, combat boots, a black t-shirt and a trench-coat dragging behind them.
The adolescent in black walked towards the two, continuing with loud footsteps. When he reached within five meters of them, the younger one finally noticed his presence. Two meters from the throne, the adolescent in black kneeled on one knee, bowing his head down, towards the man on the throne.
"Hello, Father," The one in all back said to the man on the throne
Sixteen years ago, Landon Myriad, Clan Head of the Myriad Dragon Clan, was forty eight years old, and needed an heir to be the next Clan Head, so he could retire. He had had four children so far, however they were all female, so according to tradition, they were unable to take over. To combat this, Landon adopted the child who had the highest talent he could find, choosing the then less than two year old Morpice. Although this mostly solved the problem, the Elders of the Clan convinced him to at least continue to try and get a biological heir with the Myriad Dragon Bloodline. A year later, Eric Myriad was successful born, and a few years later, two more brothers and a sister. Even with Eric's birth being a little over a year after Morpice's adoption, and Morpice's higher talent, many Elders favored Eric instead. Landon, however, treated the two equally getting a bit of anger from his wife. With Landon's Wife and the Elder's support, Eric was put as the Clan Heir. Morpice wasn't forgotten, or at least his talent wasn't, and the Elders decided Morpice would be the future personal bodyguard of Eric, and in the meantime guard if Landon. Eric, was still jealous of Morpice's talent though, and believed his father may still want Morpice as Clan Head, and decided to use a special poison on Morpice, that crippled his cultivation. People of the clan thought he crippled himself during his cultivation, and his status in the clan dropped significantly afterwards. With pity from Landon, Morpice was allowed to stay in the clan, even if no one else wanted him. The fact that Morpice was allowed to stay caused Eric to become livid, and took it upon himself to have him killed.
"Morpice," The man responded, "It's good to see you are alright, the guards said they saw you enter the compound two months ago but no one had seen you since"
"Ah that, I was just in my room, you could have sent someone to check." he replied apologetically, before turning to the side, "Hello Eric," he said to the fourteen year old, before turning back, "Father, Eric, I hope I wasn't interrupting your conversation,"
"I-" Eric tried to respond but was cut off by Landon, "Don't worry, it's fine Morpice,"
"I see, well then I will be heading to town,"
"Alright then, be careful,"
Regret slowly walked out of the room, his footsteps continuing to echo for a long while, ending into a long silence
'I was sure he had died, damn him,' Eric thought to himself
"Well it's great to see your older brother is alright" Landon said to his son, breaking the silence
"Father," Eric said to his father in a stern tone
"Eric, he is your older brother, just because he was crippled doesn't mean you are allowed to disrespect him,"
Silence filled the room for a short time, before they continued with their original conversation about the war between Toria and the Independent Nation of Sequen
=================
The town of Ebonfall was built on the banks of a large, crystal-clear river, making it a modestly sized trade hub in the area. The large town is surrounded by the backdrop of beautiful hills which have helped shape the town to what it is today.
The materials these hills brought were of great importance, but they were also influential when it came to architectural designs as the vast majority of buildings have been built in various round shapes and sizes, which incorporate elements of the hills around them.
Life in Ebonfall is calm and peaceful and due to that, it has attracted a lot of attention. Recently, many people have flocked to Ebonfall causing its population to rise exponentially over the last dozen or so years. The town's overlord is the Myriad Dragon Clan, which has been in the area for centuries. The town exists in east area of the Toria Kingdom.
Bordered between a wild ocean to the North, a swampland to the South, a calm river to the East and hills to the West, the kingdom of Toria mainly lives off gem cutting, hunting , mining and crafting.
Toria itself is mainly covered in uninhabitable mountains, open fields, and many small, spread out forests, it has a temperate climate, which has lead to a widely spread population, despite this, many large cities have become huge population centers in many parts of the country.
The country's landscape is quite beautiful; imposing fjords, huge waterfalls and white trees that look as though they were covered in snow, are just a sliver of the spectacles Toria has to offer, which is why the country is a cherished destination among foreigners.
The people of Toria always welcome foreigners and tend to show a lot of goodwill towards them. They feel foreigners could help increase the country's relatively low population.
Toria has stern laws and law enforcement, which is fairly normal in the area. The country's main export is gemstones, but most of their economy comes from monster hunters; people who go out into the forests and mountains to hunt monsters for profit.
Regret walked out of the compound, this time without sneaking around. 'Ah finally outside!' Regret thought the day would be great due to the great weather and the fact he was finally outside, and getting some exercise.
Regret walked down towards the town's central commercial district; the market square. Inside his room there was only around 6 Gold Coins, and Regret was going to need a lot more for his plan, at least a few dozen Platinum or Jade Coins. To begin his plan, he created multiple Shadow Clones, and had them go around the market, buying raw materials in bulk, along with some other specific items.
He rented a crafting room at a trade guild and had the clones drop the materials off there. After obtaining as much material as possible and using up all of the 6 Gold, Regret began part of his plan. Using the Tome, he read on how to make and use Transmutation Circles. After reading, he began drawing one that took up the entire floor of the room, then put all the raw materials on the ground as well.
*Clap*
Clapping his hands together the circle glowed white and and the metal bars and gemstones melded together in the circle's center before the light dissipated. Left behind was a mound of weapons and armor, of varying quality, there were shields, swords, axes, plate armor, etc.
{Alchemy(SS)-2 -> Alchemy(SS)-23}
To check the quality of the weapons, Regret picked up one of the swords. It was a single edged sword which had a fairly large, thin, straight blade made of Black-Iron held in place by a grip wrapped in ordinary, pig leather, dyed black. The blade had a thin, black, straight cross-guard, just large enough to keep your fingers safe while the blade remains firmly in your hands. Reget activated his [Eyes of the Divine Abyss] to check its stats; {Ordinary Black-Iron Shortsword, Common, Quality: D+, A ordinary short sword made from black-iron, created with Regret Sin's {Alchemy(SS)-2}}, He then picked up a long oval shield made of mithril, its edges are ornamented with small gemstones and decorated with intricate metal patterns. {Mythril Barrier Shield of Refuge, Super Rare, B-, An oval shaped shield made of mythril; created by Regret Sin with {Alchemy(SS)-2)} 'Well that's decent'
After checking all the equipment, he had his clones go out to sell them. After two hours, they came back with 8 Platinum, and 46 Gold Coins. While waiting, Regret decided to try and use one of the upgrade cards on the system. {Upgrade Card used, Target=System, Upgrading.... Upgrade Success, System Evolved into System V2, Store Upgraded to Fantasy Store, New Features added; Quick Equip Feature, Radar Compass Feature} Checking the new features, the newly upgraded Fantasy Store now sells literally anything in all of fantasy, including things from anime and novels, the Quick Equip feature allows equipping anything from inventory with voice command, not needing to open inventory, and the Radar Compass is (It's exactly like the compass feature from bethesda games I have no clue how to explain it). From the Fantasy Shop, Regret bought a Senzu Bean (Dragon Ball) for 25 Shop Points, and ate it, repairing his crippled cultivation. 'Well that was convenient, I thought it would take much longer before I would be able to fix that'
