He picked a biscuit and took a bite.  "My main agenda here is to discuss your baby shower.  Mother wanted to go and talk to you about it but I volunteered." He scratched his head for a bit and leaned his upper body forward in deep concentration for the delivery of his next words. "Mother would like to hold a single baby shower for you and Xiao Rui."

Instantaneously, all the tender, motherly vibe was wiped out of her visage.  She turned from a caring and fussy mother hen into a growling mother tiger who's sensing some threat to her baby cubs.
