Helen was left in a daze as Henry and Madel left. Her body still remembers it's love for him. Though her spirit remembers her love for Francis back in planet Hilan, her body still longs for Henry. Her heart was crying. Her brain was imagining the two as they rode on the Nori. Henry was hugging Madel's waist and leaning sweetly towards her head. Smelling her fragrant scent, he unconsciously comments in her fragrance.
"Hey!" Francis woke her up from imagining things.
Jealousy was obvious in her eyes. Somehow, he admires Cheska and Helen for not scheming against each other despite of their obvious love for one person. Perhaps it is because they know that their greatest rival in his heart is not a woman but a man. He chuckled. He landed on a unique set of friends. He was continuously amazed by how his friends helps each other without trying to push themselves too hard towards him.
Deep within Cheska and Helen both knew that they should stop loving him. It hurts, there was a yearning to fight for his love, to tell him how they feel, but it was all complicated. As the acting head of the family Cheska needs to be married to a reliable man for the heritage of their clan. In the absence of their parents and his elder brother she must bear the responsibility of maintaining the order within their household. It was a tradition in their clan that the highest position in the family goes to the first family, the legal wife followed by the first-born child. The first-born child coming from the first family possess a higher rank than the concubines and their children. Another high-ranking position is given to the child who was born from the first family while the husband has still not found a concubine. It gives honor to the sanctity and purity of the first family. Therefore, all the children who were born before the father touches another woman is given the privilege like that of the first born. Cheska has that privilege.
Her parents are working as royal physicians. They have given great honor to the clan. But because of the war in the borders, their parents were sent to watch over the thirteenth prince who was leading the war. Their life is hanging by the thread. His brother is physician who won the life and death battle 7 years ago. He was asked to join a team from the royal palace for a secret mission.
Cheska must bear the responsibility of keeping the family together. Being married to a gay would make her clan lose face and probably lead to an imbalance of power within the household. She still has 3 younger siblings to protect so she cannot let the 1st rank concubine gain the power.
Helen on the other hand was suppressing the feelings of the previous owner that was deeply etched into her bones. She was adamant to marry someone and loving a gay was worse than waiting for Francis to love her back. 25 years of hoping and gaining nothing made her resolute not to engage in an unreciprocated love.
Opposite of what Helen was imagining, Henry was holding Madel for his life. The Nori was running too fast that he did not know if he will think about his messy hair, his painful groin and butt, or what will happen if he falls.
What romantic conversation? Henry could not even open his mouth with the fear that dust or insect would directly fly in his throat.
Within Madel's dark cloak was some fitting clothes which shown each curve of her body. It was made up of Theoly scales. Theoly came from a family of dragons. They are known for their fine scales which are red and black in color. These creatures are proud and deadly. Nobody could tame them let alone kill one. Because of their speed and impenetrable scales, they are feared by dragon hunters.
With that suit Henry knows that not even his grandfather could harm her using a celestial weapon. He could already guess where she got it. It was from her friends.
He nodded in approval as he remembered the danger in doing a delivery service. He might have not noticed it himself but he was worried that her customers might take advantage of her.
The Nori stopped in front of a burned gate. There was still a smoke coming out from the mansion. There was a creaking sound and the stench of blood permeated the area. Madel was stunned by the scene in front of her.
Henry kneeled to the ground as he felt the weakness in his legs. Having multiple carriage and huge beasts, he had never sat at the back of a beast directly. The one hour bumpy ride had caused painful trauma in his butt and thighs.
"Oh my gosh, my womanhood" he said as he held his shaking thighs.
His noseccaught the distinct smell of blood making his heart skip a beat.
[danger].
He looked towards Madel who had already placed the bouquet of flowers in front of the gate. He staggered upon seeing the sight in front of him. The Golihan mansion was burned. He did not need to look inside to deduce that there had been a massacre.
"What is not in the Golihan mansion." Madel repeated the words that Tristan had told him. Knowing his attitude, the mansion could have been occupied by the shadows who attacked the school. He has eliminated all of them.
[but why?] she took a deep breath and told Henry that their mission is over.
He was not an idiot. He realized that Tristan already knew about what happened in the mansion. But as of why he sent flowers and allowed Madel to deliver it personally, he did not know.
Being asked to sit at the Nori's back was like a punishment towards Henry. That was why when Madel asked her that they will go back his countenance fell immediately.
[please, have mercy on my eggs] he cried inwardly.
Seeing his pained expression, Madel realized about the discomfort that he must have had suffered.
She took of her coat and arranged it to make a saddle.
Looking at her Theoly suit which was hugging around her body and head tightly made Henry swallow his saliva. It was the first time that he has seen the full curves of a woman. She looked fierce in red and black.
Patting the saddle Madel felt satisfied with its softness. As she turned around he caught Henry looking at her and their eyes locked. No one knows what he was thinking but she had to suppress her emotions.
Every day that man never fail to mesmerize her. Her feelings are so strong that it felt like his name was running in her eyes and her intense emotion was overflowing. He was the one to retract his gaze first.
They rode the Nori back on the campus. Madel was thinking about why did Tristan needed to eliminate all the shadows in the Golihan mansion and how she could repay him.
"I'm sorry Henry, but I don't think I can join the group mission. There are things that I must do."
she said as they approached the gates of Gray academy.
