38.05% Priestess Of The Land / Chapter 50: The Incident (Part 2)

Capítulo 50: The Incident (Part 2)

Over 90 years ago, an incident occurred that had shocked all of the Lands. There were not many records to explain what exactly happened, however, it affected many people and resulted in many changes.

From that time, many of those who have witnessed the event had died already and taken the happenings of that day to their graves. However, for people from the Moon Land who could manipulate time and live longer than the rest, their memories were wiped out.

For such a largescale event, many people agreed that only a living God could have performed such an act, but many people argued against that claim and declared it a tribulation.

On that day, Lord Aten simply woke up from sleep, missing a majority of his memories. The confusion did not affect him much because he wasn't the only one, however, no news of what had occurred was a mystery he has been investigating for years. This event has long been forgotten, and not many people would be found talking about it.

As Lord Aten thought about that day, he also remembered after that a priestess was also awakened, however not even a week after, she was already reported dead.

Thinking it might have been the same priestess, he had never met them, additionally that person was dead, so it could not be Tria.

"My Lord..?"

Lord Aten was deep in thoughts, therefore he did not hear Mgor's call to him.

"My Lord?" Mgor tried calling out again.

"…"

"My Lord?!"

"Ah! Huh? What is it?"

"Excuse this one's impudence, since we are forbidden to speak of this topic….but I wanted to say that the young priestess…seems to have a resemblance…to my lady?"

Ping! It's as if a lightbulb lit up in his head, and as soon as he came to that sudden realization, his body flew out his window towards the guest house.

Tria who was in the middle of discussing with Crei about how they were going to sleep tonight, was interrupted by Lord Aten's abrupt arrival.

"You---remove the face mask and let me take a good look at you!" ordered Lord Aten.

Tria looked at him awkwardly, why did he want her to remove her face mask? Also, how did he know she had a face mask on?

"Lord Aten, we are your guests, not your servants!" reminded Crei sternly.

Realizing that he has been too rash, Lord Aten calmed down and his expression saddened.

"I apologize, I should probably start by explaining what is going on first," started Lord Aten as he sighed, " could we talk while sitting down?"

"Sure," answered Tria.

The flower garden was near, and so they went there to talk. Lord Aten was looking at Tria's face, and just like Mgor said, there really was a resemblance, however, he needed to tell his story first if he wanted to see her real appearance.

"I am very old, and I did not feel the years get to me, until I pushed out the one person who mattered the most to me, my little sister.

Although I was the older brother, she would always act as an older sister, she would always nag me and reminded me of things I should not do.

My sister and I had an extremely special bond, we would never leave each other side. However, that changed when she grew bored of home, and wanted to explore the other lands.

The Moon Land people keep to themselves, and they do not go out there exploring. My sister did not understand the culture, she would repeatedly ask to go outside, and her yearning for exploration is what motivated me to invent so many things and change many rules in the Moon Land so she would not feel the need to go anywhere.

It might make me seem overprotective, but it was for her own good.

She eventually left, and I could not stop her. However, not long after, her best friend who went along with her came back with news of my sister staying back and actually married a man from the Sun Land. She asked that I do not go looking for her and that she was happy where she was.

I respected her wishes, however for the past 20 years, to minimize the pain from the void she has left in my heart, I forbade not only myself but everyone to speak of her. I had even tried to forget her, and I almost did, until I saw you. I had felt something that I couldn't explain.

Hence, after racking my brain as to why I was so drawn to you, it is because you have such a resemblance to her."

By the time, Lord Aten had finished speaking, two streams of tears were flowing down on the side of his cheeks, as he recalled of the day his little sister had left, without even saying goodbye.

Tria and Crei were surprised to hear such a story, and Tria could feel the sorrow from Lord Aten's spirit.

"What was her name?" she asked.

"Her name?... her name was…Elaine," he said as he held on to his face with tears oozing out.

In the past 20 years, today was the first time he has spoken out her name, and with it came out all the pent-up pain he had dug deep into his heart. Sitting across from him, Tria who heard the name, also started sobbing.

She felt the pain in heart intensifying to a point when she had to no choice but to cry. The previous soul from this body still had lingering pain from not being raised by her mother.

Hearing her mother's name, Tria sobbed upon Crei's chest, while Lord Aten was holding to his face full of tears. Crei felt heartbroken seeing her cry for the first time, so he caressed Tria's back hoping to make her feel better.

The two had eventually calmed down and came back to their senses. Tria then removed her mask, revealing the face that has been hidden for months now.

Lord Aten was staring at her in awe.

"E-Elaine…" he whispered.

"My mother's name…was Elaine," said Tria slowly.

"So you are her daughter....wait, was? Did something…happened to her?"

"She died after a while of giving birth to me."

Lord Aten did not reply and just stared into space. He did not speak, he did not move, not even his gaze changed.

He stayed as so for over an hour.

"How did she die?" he finally spoke and asked.

"From what I have gathered, I was born as a mentally ill child, and that had made my father distance himself from her. Due to depression, she eventually died."

"Hahahaha, she…died???" asked Lord Aten and laughed maniacally as a murderous aura enveloped him. He could not believe that his little sister was dead.

Although she had left, with their abilities to manipulate time, he believed that she would eventually come back, even if it was a century later. However, never would he have thought that she would have died, and he would never get the chance to see his little sister again.
