The next day.
Jin Liang was practising with his sword in the forest.
SWOOSH
An insect laid dead on the ground, an ant. It was 5 times bigger than any ant Raden had ever seen.
"I guess I have no choice" Jin Liang said to himself. He took the ant, washed it and ate it. It was disgusting.
<<Ant Slash levelled up>>
'Oh, I understand...'
Raden would have vomited if not for the lack of a body since he too felt the juicy taste of the ant.
"Kid you sure have a great will to be able to practice such a painful forbidden art. You sure have a great destiny ahead of you!" Raden said holding his disgust.
"Wh-What? The pearl can talk?"
"Actually I'm a soul imprisoned in this pearl but...yeah, you could say that the pearl can talk"
"A soul...are you a demon?!?? Only demons can separate their soul f-from their bodies..." He said frightened
"I'm not a demon, I'm the ancient soul of a great sage."
"The what?"
"You know kid, the cultivation world hasn't always been the same. Before the introduction of the new heavenly laws, soul splitting wasn't prohibited. Actually, I intended to return to my body but...huh...unfortunately the heavens decided to change their law at that moment. I gave the pearl to my son and so it went on from generation to generation until you inherited it from your mother."
'Oh...man why is it so hard saying bullsheep?'
"Oh? And then why are you talking to me only now?"
'You are a poophole... And I could have thought a better excuse to complete that mission'
<<Gain the trust of Jin Liang>>
<<Reward: Completion of the Soul Trasmigration>>
"That's because...I don't know...after your intense state of emotion I was woken up by my deep slumber."
"Uh? Somebody is coming!"
**********
"Jin Liang I know that it must have been hard for you, but don't give up! You are still the hope of our clan, and you can make up for your talent with resources and mastery of the art" Said a girl.
She was a beautiful girl with jade-like sk...Wait a moment, have I already heard something like this somewhere else before? You know I had for a moment a...deja-vu. However, she was Xue Liang, the beauty of the clan. By her eyes could be seen a trace of disappointment.
'Thanks, little girl for stalling for myself some time!'
"Thanks, but I still doubt that the viscount delegate will choose me...after all with my talent"
She became angry: "You can't give up on your cultivation like that! We all put our hope in you! I PUT MY HOPE IN YOU!"
He smiled: "Don't worry I won't stop walking the cultivation path like that...it's only that I seriously doubt that he would choose me, that's all. There are still other ways for me to rise"
"Ahhh...I understand" "Still, so your best, for your father and for me, ok?" She smiled.
"Yes, I'll do." He waved at her.
"Count on it...I'll do my best!" He muttered.
Raden sighed.
"So, do you want to impress the viscount delegate?" Raden asked, smiling metaphorically.
*(YEs dO yOu hAvE AnY pRoBlEm iF I mIsS cOmPlEtElY tHe mEaNiNg oF metaphorically?)*
"Yes, I do. I lied...that's probably the only way I could achieve greater heights." Jin Liang said dejectedly. "The only way that I can exit from this village...indeed"
"Do you want to explore the world, kid?"
"Yes. I want to know, to know where did my mother go!"
"I have a cultivation art made appositely for your case, kid"
"Really?"
"Yes, it's the 'Great Way'. An art that gives a huge boost of cultivation when initiated, with only a little setback: you can only cultivate it for your entire life"
"Why?"
"Because it changes your body in such a way that the normal arts will become basically useless, kid"
Jin Liang frowned as he was contemplating his possibilities. Could that be a huge scam? Yes, the probabilities were big, but not as big as the possibilities of him not being accepted by the viscount. He knew that there weren't many other possibilities, so he decided.
"Ahhh" He sighed "I accept"
'He didn't even ask himself why do I want to impart him my knowledge...Well ...I guess he's truly desperate'
"Cultivation is threading a path, old, new, it doesn't matter. What matters is the ability to chose the most appropriate path for oneself, and this art is going to make you adapt for the True Way"
And so Jin Liang fell into a state of trance. The lesson continued for hours until...
<<Mission Accomplished>>
<<Soul Transmigration step 3/3 completed>>
'I guess that the fact he could only cultivate this art for his entire life...is true.'
"I-it actually works! I can feel myself stronger!" Said Jin Liang
"Sorry kid, I promise to give you a new body whenever I can"
"Wai w-what? Why can't I move my body?" "Y-you! What did you?"
"Now you're imprisoned in the pearl as I was before"
"You...DEMON!! GET ME OUT OF HERE! NOW!" He screamed
"Ah, don't worry I'll find you a new body! You don't have to mind the fact that you're imprisoned in the pearl: it's only temporary"
"You! BUTTHOLE! I knew I shouldn't have trusted you! Don't you even feel guilty that an elder like you scammed an innocent boy?!?!"
'I'm not even an elder you know' Raden thought while feeling a little guilty...'Well whatever tomorrow the delegate should come, I have to prepare myself'.
Screams were heard in the background of his mind.
"I KNEW THAT YOU WERE A DEMON! I KNEW IT!"
'Well, if you knew it why didn't you do anything?' Raden rolled his eyes.
And so he stopped paying attention to Jin Liang. But he rapidly discovered that it wasn't as easy as it seemed: souls can apparently scream for an infinite amount of time without getting tired
There must be a deep reason to why eating ants make you able to cultivate a technique.
But I forgot what it was.
