Capítulo 4: Ch.4| Goodbye, Dad.

She looked up at him as she sat on the floor hugging her knees. Her eyes had tears raining down, seeing him only irked her sobs. Jarres kneeled down, spreading his arms out for a hug. She jumped at the chance to grab him, the man that raised her, in her mind that was all it took to make him her father.

"T-take me, w-with you..." she said inbetween sobs. There were a few times he considered taking Janice with him, but she would have no place with him after he switched identities. Luckily, Jarres was a professional at goodbyes.

"Janice, you're gonna be fine without me." He consoled her, patting her head as she cried her eyes out.

"No I won't!" Janice lifted her head and shook it. She looked absolutely pitiful, and he wanted to bring her with. However, Jarres knew Pierre wouldn't be able to make it on his own.

"Come on now, don't make things difficult for Pierre, he'll need you when I'm gone!" Jarres looked down at her. Her sobbing began to lighten up, but not by much.

"Pierre should be capable enough. Since you choose him as the next CEO instead of me!" There it is, some salt was thrown.

"He is better with people and computers." He defended his foster son. Pierre wasn't as proficient as Janice, but he was definitely better where it counted. Janice couldn't refute that point, so she stayed silent. She had stopped crying, but her tear stained face made her look... well, pathetic.

She turned her head, pulling away from him and standing up. She wiped her face with the back of her hand, sniffling as she did.

"Janice, You know I'll still visit, right?" Jarres stood up, straightening his suit out. She simply looked at him in response.

Jarres opened the door of the storage room and walked out, Janice following closely behind. Pierre was still standing there waiting for the two. Well, they hadn't been in there long.

"Janice, are you okay?" Pierre asked, showing his concern. She flashed a rarely seen smile as her reply, but her smile looked pitiful.

Honestly, Jarres didn't know if Pierre had romantic feels for Janice, or if he simply thought of her as a sister. He might never know. Jarres quickly checked his watch, it would soon be noon.

"Alright, I need to leave for my 'lunch break', would you two like to leave the building with me?" Jarres looked at them both, he would very much like to say one proper and final goodbye to them.

"Yes, let's go." Pierre gave a smile while Janice sadly nodded. Jarres hoped that whatever their futures had in store for them, they would at least have each other if not him. They walked to the elevator in silence. Only after they reached the first floor did any of them speak.

"Pierre, take good care of Janice while I'm dead." Jarres spoke to Pierre, then turned to Janice and said, "And Janice, take care of Pierre."

"Okay." Pierre nodded, while Janice didn't respond. Her head was down as she followed them out of the elevator.

"Janice." Jarres tried to get her attention. Her best quality as an employee was her professionalism, only now it seemed to have been tossed out a window. Really, she wasn't normally like this, though perhaps it was a hormonal thing. Too bad, at this moment, she wouldn't even look at him, which had him sigh.

"Goodbye then." Jarres glanced at Pierre and Janice before walking away, his hands in his pockets. He didn't notice Janice raising her head to watch him leave.

"Goodbye, dad." She said in a soft voice, yet despite her quiet tone, Jarres could still hear her. It put a smile on his face as he continued toward the exit.

After he got out of the building, he walked towards green street, he had parked his car around there. Getting in, he took his phone from his pocket. 11:44 AM. He put it away and started the car. Where to? B street, the busiest one.

After making his way towards Brownstein street, he paused at a stop sign and closed his eyes. Then he took out a bottle of whiskey, as both an anesthetic and to make the crash seem less out of the blue.

He completely emptied the bottle, then threw it to the back. His alcohol tolerance had always been low, especially after dying. So after one bottle he was totally hammered. Hopefully he wouldn't hurt anyone besides himself.

He slammed on the gas petal without turning. There was a 'T' in the road so he went straight into the wall of a building. There was a loud bang as he flew out of his seat. He lost consciousness upon impact. Too bad this would make Jarres out to be a reckless drunkard who doesn't wear a seat belt, though It's not like he needed to have a good reputation.
