Capítulo 4: Growing Up Double O

Two and a half years flew and Laszlo is three years old. Laszlo's parents watched as he worked with the little spirit monkey on one of his "inventions." The couple discovered the spirit monkey the same day the pair reunited. At first, Sidra was scared the monkey would attack her baby. However, to her astonishment, she discovered the pair seemed to be playing. The spirit monkey, although young, could already speak. The pair sat and played and it was this way ever since. The monkey never left so the Omaris built a little bed for the spirit monkey. Laszlo called it Spaz and it called him Laz. Titus also began calling Laszlo Laz. It was a handy nickname for his son. Sidra didn't like it at first but she slowly began calling him Laz as well.

The most amusing thing about the toddler and the monkey was their constant tinkering. Laz always claimed he was working on inventions, a term they assumed he got from the spirit monkey, but they could never figure out what these things did. They were amazed at how determined their son was with his inventions. Don't kids get hyper-focused on hobbies early on? Some kids like toys, others like soldiers, their son loved making inventions. Titus caught Laz with a gift he was giving to a friend one day sticking one of his inventions in it. He couldn't figure out what it was it just looked like a circular object with a couple of thin flexible wires. Mostly these things were created from common metals. Not seeing anything wrong with it, he just let Laz put it into the gift. This pleased Laz who asked to 'fix' more of the gifts his father sent to his friends. He would even brag to his friends about his son 'improving' the gifts with his inventions. Titus would point out the little additions. Often they would ask what these additions were for. Titus would shrug his shoulders and simply say, "Laz said they help with hearing." Laz's 'inventions,' became a novelty and people began to make requests for his little gifts.

No one realized Laz created numerous listening devices and placed them in the 'gifts.' He wanted to collect intel on the rich and powerful. When his father first discovered his bugs, Laz believed he would need to start all over again. However, his father and all of his friends really didn't understand what these objects were. They were mostly amazed a three-year-old could create such precision looking instruments. Laz eventually began adding cameras to the gifts. He would even have Spaz run out and place the cameras for him. Laz and Spaz spent months testing and creating the listening devices. Laz wanted to create 'dead' technology, or electronic devices, instead of the spirit technology used in this world. The reason for the dead tech is Laz feared these cultivators would detect anything they created with spirit items. People were prepared for the technology of their world, but they were not prepared for the technology of Earth.

The problem they ran into is the dead tech give off a slight electronic sound which cultivators with their powerful senses can detect. They needed these devices to go unnoticed. Spaz suggested making some changes to the dead tech by using certain spirit materials. Combining the dead tech of Earth with certain specific components of this new world, they were able to create a new piece of hybrid technology that was completely undetectable.

The purpose of all of the bugging the pair was doing was preparing an information network. Laz needed information. He knew his parents were planning on abandoning him by the time he was ten. He needed to develop a source of income, assets, influential connections, and familiarize himself with secret dealings in town. Laz was just a weak kid and there wasn't much for him to do. He decided to use his childhood to establish an information network. He would also train his skills. Cultivation was a new aspect for him. In his own world he was a master of martial arts, but in this world, martial arts was something completely different. Here people didn't cultivate martial arts they cultivated their path to immortality. Laz began cultivating when he turned one. Spaz said it wasn't a good idea to start any sooner. Event though Laz was only three, his cultivation gave him the strength of a ten-year-old boy. He practiced his martial skills on Spaz, but Spaz wasn't really a fighter. Being a former guardian angel one might think he knew how to fight. Isn't this was a guardian does? Laz, however, came to learn a guardian angel was an intellectual and spiritual guardian. In essence, Spaz was an egghead and didn't understand anything about martial arts. In spite of this, Laz tried sparring with his friend on many occasions, but Spaz just sucked at fighting.

Laz and Spaz spent the next several years creating their information network. Laz turned twelve just a month ago and he was finally on his first 'mission.' Through their information network, Spaz and Laz learned about a group who destroyed a mid-tier mortal sect for its inheritance treasure. It wasn't clear what the nature of the treasure was. The only thing clear was the group, Dong Fang, believed it was invaluable. Spaz, being a former Guardian Angel, was very clear with Laz about killing in this new life. He would guide Laz so they would not evoke heaven's wrath. He also said even if it weren't an issue of heaven's wrath. Killing innocent people would lead to separating him more and more from one of the other six pieces of his soul. Laz was more than willing to cooperate, he wanted to reunite his soul and certainly didn't want to find himself on the wrong side of heaven. Given the nature Dong Fang Group, Laz was given permission to kill as needed.

Currently, Laz was flying in a two-man aerial machine created by Spaz. Spaz, due to his divine origins, new pretty much everything about everything. He helped Laz created specialized tools for his mission. This object was a mini jet for tow using twenty-first-century human technology with materials and techniques from the divine realm. Everything was created at the lowest cost and could escape the notice of high-tiered warriors and their divine sense. Arriving at their target, Laz jumped out of the plane and opened his parachute. Controlling his fall with the hand grips of the chute, Laz safely landed on the top of a building. This group of buildings was located far enough away from Laz's target so no one would be alerted to his arrival. At the same time, he wouldn't have to run too far to approach his target.

Laz dropped from the roof of the building after stowing his parachute. From the building, Laz stealthily made his way to the Dog Fang Group's compound. Slipping in between buildings, Laz would occasionally take out guards or warriors patrolling the area. It was important for him to move stealthily and carefully as everyone in the compound was above Laz in cultivation. If he were discovered he would be in trouble. At twelve, Laz was at two bulls of strength, while the lowest cultivator here was at three bulls. The strongest cultivator was at six bulls. Spaz helped design or 'find' weapons and gadgets that bridged the difference in strength between Laz and his opponents. His main weapon looked like a modified Beretta with a silencer. It shot bullets but didn't use gunpowder to fire. The bullets were able to pierce through most armors. He also had a knife that seemed to cut through nearly anything. It was better at cutting than the old laser cutter he used to use in his old life. It was a combat knife which was either made or found by Spaz. He would never say which.

Spaz used a combination of the Beretta and the knife to work his way through his obstacles. Quickly moving expecting the bodies he left in his wake would be discovered. Laz finally made it to the main building where the item was located. Laz moved through the building planting explosives throughout. He knew once he acquired his target he would need to leave quickly and in order to do that he needed to create as much chaos as possible. Laz had also set several explosives throughout the base as he made his way in. Laz finally made his way to the Dog Fang Group's vault where the item was supposed to be located. Laz found a pillar to hide behind as he spied out the building. Checking his watch and verifying he is on schedule, Laz was about to make his move. "Not bad for a weak little kid at two bulls," a large man in a black and gray robe said as he stepped out from the vault. The man knew he was here, but that was impossible, unless... Laz quickly checked his watch bringing up a screen which took power readings. To Laz's horror, he was right. The strongest person here wasn't at six bulls, but at nine bulls! The man sensed him somehow even though it should be impossible. "Are you coming out?" the man asked. Laz stepped out and walked forward toward the man. Immediately several warriors surrounded him with swords and sabers drawn. There were even men with crossbows present. Laz was in a tight spot!
