*RING*
The classes for the day had ended and Linri was getting ready to leave.
"Are you planning on doing anything today?" Brie asked. He was a little surprised. Considering how he fell out with Jaime Linri thought she would also be angry with him.
"Not really. What's up?"
"Well, I needed your help with something. It's sorta private" said Brie while fidgeting. Linri raised his brows. He knew her background from start to finish so there shouldn't be anything private for her. I mean there shouldn't be anything private that required his help. And if it was girl troubles she could have just gone to Jaime.
"Hey" a guy with black hair and red eyes greeted Linri. It was the guy he met during the ceremony.
"Hey, uhhhh what was your name again?" He honestly couldn't remember his name. He was a mob according to the game standards so who cares?
So this chapter today was sorta like a recap. Sorry about that -_-
But it still contains character development. As I said before I have RP background that's why I don't like glossing over talks and just say he did this or that and instantly cut back to the aftermath. It just doesn't feel organic. I am really bad when it comes to the fighting scenes but one thing I take pride in is the character developments and that was why this was necessary.
Ever since the start of volume 2 we saw Linri constantly being beaten down. If you look back at it everything he did ended up as a failure and that's why he is crumbling. He needed to confide in someone but he pushed everyone away and that resulted in this chapter's events.
After all even if he constantly jokes about main character he doesn't believe he is one. He is just your average Joe thrust into a foreign world. The only thing that's going for him is his silver tongue and even that started to lose its value.
He got his powers from the gods he got his confidence from his knowledge of the future and he got his fearlessness towards death from dying every night. Take it all away and he has nothing. And that's why he is crumbling under pressure. If you ask me he is a character that's just destined for failure.
