As the shouts and cheers started to subside, the prince looked at the field ones more. Looking at the fallen soldiers and beasts, he felt a trace of sadness for the fallen souls. However, he was glad that the number was rescannable, compared to the amount to demonic beasts that attacked them this time around.
It was time to clean up the bodies of the fallen and destroy the bodies of those monsters. Therefore Gerald ordered his commanders to take points. Some of them were ordered with leading a band of soldiers with carrying the wounded to the infirmary. Another group was tasked with taking care of the dead, writing their names and positions. After which they were brought to the cemetery, where they would be buried.
The last group was tasked with cleaning up the walls from the demonic beasts. But this was mostly left for the soldiers of the church. As the church had more knowledge about the demonic beasts, they would know better what to do with the bodies of those fallen beasts.
With having divided the tasks, Gerald took a deep breath and returned slowly back to the barracks to rest up. Even though he had not fought as much, commanding all the soldiers still exhausted him. Apparently his body was not fully healed, so would still feel heavy form time to time.

Arriving at the infirmary, Francis looked over at the body of James. There was a sizable hole in his abdomen. However what surprised Francis was that this looked actually as an exit wound. Confused by this, Francis looked for one of the medics that were around. Calling him over Francis asked, "This does not look like a wound from demonic beasts. It looks more like an exit wound of a sword?"
The medic could do nothing but nod a bit as he replied, "Yes you are correct, it is indeed a stab wound from the back... I think that he got wounded during the confusion. I cannot imagine someone doing that on purpose to him."
As the medic was explaining this situation, a face popped up on Francis' mind. He knew of someone that would act so low in order to get rid of James. This was none other than Edgar.
Looking back at the medic Francis asked, "Will he be alright? Will he get better?"
The medic looked at the lying body of James with an n unsure expression. After thinking for some time he replied, "I am not sure if he will survive. The only good thing is that it looks like this stab missed major blood vessels. However he has lost considerable amount of blood. So time will tell if he will survive." Saying those words the medic returned back as he was called over to another patient.
Hearing those words, James, Christopher and Warren knew who the culprit was of this action. Looking over to the other two knights, Francis had a dark expression. As he was about to say something to them, Christopher spoke up, "Yes we know that this was done by Edgar. I think that we have to pay him a visit soon. But I am sure that he will deny it all…"
Hearing this, Francis could do nothing but agree. Staying silent for a moment he replied, "One day he will pay for what he has done."
Christopher and Warren could only nod at those words, as they all looked back at the motionless body of James.
