Ves 'sat' down at one of the half-walled wooden 'desks' with a book in his 'hand'.
It was interesting to perceive a virtual setting through this fashion. The partial digitization of his mind allowed him to perceive virtual environments with much more fidelity than he thought!
It wasn't perfect, though.
Although the MTA did an excellent job, the virtual immersion still lacked some very subtle details that he couldn't quite describe.
At some points, Ves had an uncanny feeling that he was trapped in a false setting.
This kind of discomfort didn't go away. He always found at least one reason to feel disturbed.
It spoiled the novelty of his first virtual immersion experience. Ves wasn't sure whether he wanted to enter the virtual library through this method again. It was a lot more straightforward to browse the portal through a traditional projection.
ANNOUNCEMENT: MECH DESIGN SUBMISSION CONTEST!
The Mech Touch has reached 2000 chapters (in privilege), and that is a huge accomplishment!
The Mech Design Submission Contest is not the same as the last contest. Instead of submitting characters to add to my story, you are now able to suggest MECHS to The Mech Touch!
Suggest any ORIGINAL mech (no ripoffs from other books or shows!) that is suitable to be designed by Ves Larkinson and Gloriana Wodin! Suggest a commercial mech, a commissioned mech or a private mech!
Submission Details
This contest will run for 3 weeks from 18:00 CET, October 18 2020 to 18:00 CET November 8 2020.
You can submit your original mech design to be added to The Mech Touch at:
-The comments of Chapter 1958 on Webnovel
-The comments of Chapter 2000 on Webnovel
-The #events channel on The Mech Touch's Unofficial Discord server
Before you submit, PLEASE read the rules and guidelines or there is a large chance your submission will be DISQUALIFIED.
Rules
-Only 1 submission per account. Multiple submissions from the same account will not be accepted.
-The mech submission has to be a second-class or third-class mech that is PLAUSIBLE for Ves and Gloriana to design.
-You can add technology that is not currently featured in the book as long as it isn't too overpowered or convoluted. Your submission will be disqualified if the technology is too overpowered or full of scientific terms!
-Please post your mech design submission at one of the three locations I've mentioned above within the contest period. I will NOT accept submissions posted anywhere else!
-DO NOT PLAGIARIZE OTHER ANIMES, BOOKS, TV SHOWS, MOVIES OR OTHER MEDIA! The Mech Touch is not fanfiction. It is an ORIGINAL story set in its own setting! IF YOU CAN'T COME UP WITH SOMETHING ORIGINAL, THEN DON'T BOTHER PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST!
GUIDELINES
Treat this contest as an attempt to SELL a mech design of your own creation to a potential customer. What I mean by that is that you need to adopt the perspective of a marketer and a salesman. Do not make your sales pitch too long or complicated. If you just write a list of specifications without any explanation to tie it all together, then you failed.
What I like the most are mech design submissions that have a story behind them. The story has to explain what need the mech is supposed to fulfill, which customers the mech is supposed to appeal to and how much value they add to an existing mech roster.
DO NOT WRITE TOO MUCH! I don't have any patience to read a long and convoluted submission. If you need more than 500 words to describe your mech, then you failed.
Lastly, while it is enjoyable to focus on the strengths of your mech, don't make it too overpowered. I will not bend over backwards in order to incorporate an impractical mech design into my story!
