"BAM BAM BAMM. . . ."
All of the people, except Mingyue and the wry smiled Fu Tao, were tongue-tied. They are all surprised by what they saw just now. A merciless punch landed on the poor skinny guy, no one knew whether the bald man still alive or not.
Even their enemy were all petrified on the spot as they saw a cloud of dust emerged. They couldn't see the fate of the leader of the Red Skeleton gang. Each of them was paled as if blood was drained from their face. Their hand which was holding weapon trembled, unsure whether they could keep their life after fighting the demon in front of them.
Yes! She was a demon!
Each of them never expected that the woman from the rumour was stronger than what they thought!
"WHAT THE F*CK YOU RETARD ARE DOING! HELP HIM!" Zhong Jie was the first to return to his sense as he shouted to his surroundings.
Around twenty people left their original position and moved toward Liao Yun. No matter what, the danger from Liao Yun alone was too big for them to ignore.
They encircled the cloud of dust in case of a surprise attack from Liao Yun.
Not only them, but Zhong Jie also had to re-assess Liao Yun once more time.
At first, Zhong Jie thought that Liao Yun was at most Peak Grade Battle Fighter, thus he chose to finish all of the Turtle Shell Mercenary as soon as possible before Liao Yun was sieged by all of them. As long as Liao Yun was still a Battle Fighter, Zhong Jie believed that this mission was not impossible at all.
Alas, his plan went awry with only this unknown factor.
And in a flash, the formation they had laid carefully to trap the Turtle Shell Mercenary was wasted because more than half of the needed people went away.
The group of Turtle Shell Mercenary was startled when they saw half of the total enemy went to siege Liao Yun alone. And the other people stayed to hold back the Turtle Shell Mercenary.
[Damn! So despicable!] Was what Hao Bo thought.
No matter how strong Liao Yun was, Hao Bo believed that Liao Yun couldn't hold on for long if she was being sieged like that.
Fearing the worst, Hao Bo ran to support Liao Yun, followed by Mo Hua and Liang Chun. Qin Yi stayed behind to protect their client and also gave support from behind.
But unfortunately, the three of them was held back. Even though Turtle Shell Mercenary was a seasoned group of mercenary, their speciality laid in the escorting and protecting client. An offensive approach was definitely not their forte.
Qin Yi was proficient enough with her crossbow skill, it could be seen that she didn't only depend on her healing skill as a part of the Turtle Shell Mercenary. Each of her shoots was precise enough to disturb their enemy's movement. Unfortunately, the crossbow was not enough to deal a fatal blow, thus leaving Qin Yi to fully concentrate on her support role.
But after a while, she held back her crossbow to avoid any friendly-fire. It was one of the disadvantages of a crossbow. The easier usage of a weapon would mean the user had to control the urge of using the weapon. With one wrong move, she could even kill her allies, and that was what she had to avoid at any cost.
Looking at the incoming Hao Bo, Zhong Jie stepped forward to stop her personally.
"SCRAM!"
Hao Bo swung her axe with all of her strength, but unfortunately, it missed its target as Zhong Jie moved to the side.
Since Hao Bo and Zhong Jie knew each other well, of course, they would also each other's fighting style.
Hao Bo was a more direct fighter, using a pure strength and the weight of her weapon to hack the enemy. If it was any random enemy, they would have the trouble of holding on their foothold. And Zhong Jie was one of the few people that knew how to handle Hao Bo's dominating strength.
Zhong Jie was a short sword user that heavily relied on his agility and reflex. Unlike Hao Bo, he would waste his enemy's stamina and cripple his enemy's mobility before dealing the fatal blow.
Zhong Jie understood that each time Hao Bo swung her big axe, she would definitely show her blind spot on her waist. Since her axe was heavy-weapon, of course, she couldn't change her axe's trajectory after she swung it down.
Zhong Jie was baiting Hao Bo many times by barely avoiding her big axe.
[That's right. A little more. . .] Zhong Jian smirked in his mind, but he wore a tired expression on the surface. He wanted to lower her vigilance and made her impatient.
"YOU F*CKING SLIPPERY FISH! ARE YOU FIGHTING OR DANCING!!!" The provoked Hao Bo couldn't hold his anger and she swung down her axe with most of her strength.
[Idiot. . .] Zhong Jian was feeling pleasant after hoodwinked the brutal woman in front of him.
Exactly like what he had visioned before, Zhong Jian would slip to her side while slashing his short sword toward her belly. Even if his slash was shallow, a wound to the stomach was very problematic in the middle of a fight.
In this way, he would be able to win without any sweat.
He slipped to the right side of Hao Bo while slashing her belly directly. He felt satisfied with his vision and he believed that there was no any error in his calculation. He immediately stopped and then patting his gear. He had to posture in front of Hao Bo and showed her who was the best between the two.
He wore a disgusting smile while he turned his head around. He wished to see an angered or despaired expression, but he didn't see something like that. All he saw was a big shadow right in front of his vision.
And Zhong Jian didn't know anything after that.
…
"F*CK! YOU ARE ONLY A LITTLE WIMP! DON'T THINK YOU ARE MUCH BETTER THAN ME!!!" Hao Bo shouted at the hacked corpse in front of her. She couldn't see any expression from Zhong Jian's body because his body was cleanly split into two from his face to leg.
If she was not in a hurry, she would definitely appreciate the beauty of the split body in front of her. It was like a mirrored image of a corpse, with the innards and any kind of weird fluid splashed around. It is a gory scene, but Hao Bo was used to this kind of scene.
She felt that there was something weird with Zhong Jian's last movement, but she didn't know what it was and threw that thought to the back of her mind. There were a lot of things she had to do.
Hao Bo swept around the battlefield to check her surroundings. After making sure that her group could hold on for a while, she immediately went to lend a hand to Liao Yun.
…
As the cloud of dust disappeared, a lone woman stood tall.
Looking at the incoming enemy, Liao Yun only smirked and prepared to go on another rampage. Even after pummeling the bald head, she wasn't satisfied yet. And the incoming enemy was akin to a fish jumping on the chopping board.
Liao Yun welcomed all of them with her knuckle sandwich.
"HAHAHA, COME YOU MAGGOTS AND THE SON OF THE MAGGOTS!!! COME AND GREET YOUR GRANDDADDY !!!"
Even if they had the advantage of the number, the enemies didn't dare to be careless.
"Don't rush! Wear her stamina first!"
"Use your crossbow! Make sure to keep your distance!"
"Spread out! Don't group up in one place!"
A bunch of them immediately drew their crossbow and aimed it at Liao Yun. They believed as long as she got closer, they would be able to pierce her body. No matter how strong someone was, he or she would be vulnerable in front of the rain of pelts.
For this mission, they had prepared a special crossbow loaded with the pelt. Usually, the pelt was not popular for a mercenary since it was only usable for anything except Fierce Beast. And also, the price of pelt was definitely higher than the arrow for the arrow-specialized crossbow.
But there was one advantage for the pelt-specialized crossbow. Easy to use and the user could repeatedly shot the pelt in a faster rate than the arrow-specialized crossbow.
"BUHAHAHAHA, WHAT CRAP ARE ALL OF YOU SHOOTING TO ME?" Liao Yun didn't care for the incoming pelt as she evaded every incoming pelt.
Many paled as they saw Liao Yun's fluid movement. They never expected that Liao Yun had a demon-like reflex! But they kept shooting as that was the only thing to do. Their mission depended on whether they could hold this demon-like existence in this place or not.
But slowly but sure, Liao Yun had a hard time to avoid more than twenty pelt-specialized crossbows aimed only at her. It was not because of her limited stamina or she was having a hard time to avoid the incoming pelts, but rather she was trying to get close to the bunch of mercenaries.
[Tsk! Such a wimp! How can they play from a safe distance?] Liao Yun gradually grew annoyed.
Not willing to avoid the rain of pelt anymore, Liao Yun decided to break through!
"ARE ALL OF YOU A MAN OR A WIMP!" Liao Yun growled. Her body glowed as she increased her speed.
Seeing Liao Yun didn't bother with the rain of pelt, many were exhilarated. They believed that Liao Yun lost her cool and decided to gamble with her own body.
[Stupid woman! Even if a pelt wouldn't give a significant damage, it is enough as long as it wears you down!] They laughed as they believed in their victory.
As Liao Yun went closer, it was easier for them to aim. A crossbow was not a weapon with a good long range because of the limitation of the design itself. In exchange for the compact size and easy to use, crossbow couldn't shoot more than 300 metres. The maximum distance for a precise shot was 30 to 50 metres. And of course, the incoming target was a good target for a crossbow.
But all of them ended up petrified as they saw that there was no wound on Liao Yun's body. Not only that but also all of the shot pelt was all bounced from her body!
No matter how many times they shot, the pelts were no different than a breeze of the wind for Liao Yun.
It was no different from a toy!
"DO YOU THINK THIS SH*T CAN STOP ME! ARE YOU USING YOUR BRAIN OR YOUR SH*T! HAHAHA!" Different from the opposite side, Liao Yun was enjoying this fight.
Even though she was the most talented tribesmen from the Wind Chasing Tribe's young generation, she had almost no fighting experience with another tribesman. Of course, excluding Fu Tao, because he had never rejected her request at all. Thus, her sparring partners usually would be some beast or a stray Fierce Beast around the settlement.
And as the first fighting experience, she was akin to a fish in the middle of the sea. Not even to catch her, no one was able to touch her.
She was the ruler of the battlefield!
Many paled after seeing her Liao Yun's strength. Some even had their legs trembling.
"Stop the crossbow! Prepare for the close combat!!!" Someone sobered up and he immediately made the command. He was the leader of the Bloodied Axe Mercenary.
He understood that there was no choice between two. Victory, or death.
At first, he had a thought to surrender. But remembering the fate of leader of the Red Skeleton gang, he understood that the surrender wouldn't end the clash between them.
Hearing someone's command, the petrified mercenaries returned to their sense and pulled their own main weapon. But they were all too late. With Liao Yun's sudden increase in her speed, she arrived in front of some of them.
Liao Yun smiled as she punched forward and two mercenaries were blown backwards without any retaliation, similar to what happened earlier to the Red Skeleton gang's leader. It was not that they didn't retaliate at all, but Liao Yun didn't give the two mercenaries any chance.
After blowing two mercenaries, Liao Yun moved again to the other. She was akin to a wolf in the middle of sheep.
Everyone was dispirited as they tried to run away from the demon in front of them.
"NO!"
"Holy sh*t! What kind of demon is that !!!"
"AAAAARGHH. . . ."
"Please! Help!"
"Urgh!"
One by one until no one was left standing, except for herself.
She stood tall, showing her gallant back.
Liao Yun's breathing grew rougher, but there was an excited expression pasted on her face as she took her breath. She had never rampaged like this because she had no outlet for that. And now, she finally unleashed everything that was bottled up inside her.
She was a warrior, she was a fighter.
The only place she could shine was the battlefield.
Her Battle Technique was also polished in this fight. And she finally realized what she lacked, experience. Unlike her fellow tribesmen, she almost had no spar with another tribesman. Even a fight with Fu Tao was only to vent her pent-up emotion, different from a sparring.
She only stood at the same place as she lifted her head a little and closed her eyes. She was recalling every detail of the earlier fight. Even if the fight was essentially one-sided pummeling, it was still an experience for Liao Yun.
She hadn't released her Battle Technique yet because she felt something different with her body. Her body glowed bit by bit and finally covered her whole body.
She didn't feel hot or cold. All she felt was only a pleasant feeling.
