Capítulo 2: Are you a real grim-reaper?

Dae Hyuk was startled by his reaction. He was gazing at him cryptically while the mysterious guy appeared quite panic-stricken.

"Umm, are you a grim reaper?" He inquired.

The guy stepped back a little and ogled at him from head to toe. "Gosh, how can you see me in the first place? I am not even wearing my occult watch today. So, how it can be possible?" He was being baffled.

Dae Hyuk smirked obliviously. "Oops, but I think my unique eyes captured you." He replied.

The guy looked at him for a moment and started heading in the opposite direction from him. He wanted to avoid him as best as possible. Also, he appeared a bit frightened with the unexpected disclosure in front of a normal human.

Dae Hyuk quickly hushed after him as he was in no mood to let him escape so fast. "Hey, don't just leave like that." He persevered.

The guy resembled to be panicked as he was walking away with big steps. But Dae Hyuk persistently rushed after him.

After some minutes of anticipating chase, the guy halted and turned back at him. He seemed quite irked.

"What is your problem?" He grumbled at Dae Hyuk, rolling his eyes in rage.

Dae Hyuk was breathed out heavily as he had to chase after him for a long span. "You are really good at ignoring people. Generally, I am the one expert in that skill, but you seem much better than me. That's great. And also, you walk really too fast! It's tiresome to catch up with you!" He nagged.

The mystic guy frowned his face and stared at him intensively. "What do you want from me?" He asked in a deep resonance.

Dae Hyuk smirked with his response and scanned his whole appearance with his dense eyes. "Are you a real grim reaper?" He muttered.

The guy was getting impatient with his cheeky questions and squinted his eyes. "Do I look like a joke to you? Why are you wasting my time? What do you want?" He groaned at him.

"Well, don't stress your brain. I can see ghosts and other invisible creatures. So I figured you out too. It's not your fault, maybe we were meant to meet each other today." He promptly answered with a grin.

The guy seemed to be a little afraid of his confrontation and gulped anxiously. Immediately he turned his face away from him. "The-Then you shouldn't gaze at a grim reaper. Don't you know our ultimate truth of existence? We always carry misfortunes as an inevitable burden..." His voice sounded quite distressed and he slowly started to stroll again.

But Dae Hyuk didn't seem to bother about his warning. "Ahhh come on, those are just stupid superstitions. You guys are doing your job by guiding the souls of the dead. What's wrong with it?" He muttered with a gentle smile while walking by his side.

He was startled by his boldness and silently peeked at him. His firm nature was making him more anxious. "Why are you walking along with me? What do you want?" He asked him again.

"Umm, to be honest, I just want to accompany you. As you looked really lonely back there while staring at the moon. What's your name?" He inquired with a warm smile.

The guy was getting quite perplexed with his frankness. "Grim reapers don't have a name. I am known by Reaper 999." He replied.

"Wow, that's so cool. You sound like a secret spy from the National Security Agency. But I am sure, you must have had a name before becoming a grim reaper, right?" Dae Hyuk rolled his eyes in curiosity and continued his query.

He smiled a little with his neverending queries. "It's been so long that someone actually asked me my name... Even I had started to forget my actual identity..." He wondered.

"Mr. Reaper, what's your name?" He halted his motion and persistently interrogated him.

He glanced at him with a slight sneer. "Kang Yeon Shin." A cold response came back from him.

Dae Hyuk seemed to like his name and grinned widely in response. "It sounds like a royal name. I liked your name, Mr. Yeon." He murmured.

Yeon flinched with his response and gawked at him for a moment in wonder. "How can he be so comfortable around a grim reaper?" He turned his face away from him and thought with a heavy sigh.

"Well, I should introduce myself too. I am Lee Dae Hyuk, a police detective of Central Seoul Investigation Bureau. It's the first time I am meeting a real grim reaper. It's quite inciting." He chuckled.

Suddenly, Yeon's facial expression completely darkened as he stared at him with an intensified gaze. "But today will be the first and last time we actually met each other. I don't wanna involve with an ignorant human unnecessarily." He sounded a bit scary and headed towards him.

Dae Hyuk feared a bit with such an absurd declaration and took a step back. "Hey... you sound scary now... What you are gonna do?" He gulped with a dubious face.

Yeon approached much closer to him, while his dark eyes glued upon. "It was good to meet someone after such a long time, who reminded me of my real identity. Thank you and goodbye. Sadly, this will be our last meeting." He suddenly grabbed his right arm with a strong grip.

Dae Hyuk flinched with the unexpected reaction as he grabbed his arm. But surprisingly, his hands were cold as ice which depicted that he was indeed a carrier of death.

"Hey, why did you grab my hand? What are you plotting against me, Mr. Yeon? You must know that this is an absurd behavior." He gulped with a fretful face.
