The rumbling thunder once again hit the sky, giving a strike of light to the darkness of the night along with the loud rain pouring down. The cracking sound roaring angrily in the sky didn't scare him as he dragged himself into that small alley.
His hopeless body fell down on his knees while he's gritting his teeth so hard. The blood pouring from his wounds were non stop and the insanity he's been holding back was about to snap.
Another thunder once again struck the sky and it reflected those sharp red eyes of his. A pair of hungry crimson eyes full of anger and regrets. He grunted after feeling the throbbing pain from his right leg that was shot by a gun earlier.
He looked around to make sure that no one was following him anymore. The coldness of the rain slowly crawled all over his bare skin and he hugged himself as he curled. He already forgot how it felt to be in this despair after what he witnessed earlier.
The emotions rolling through him wasn't anger but guilt. A guilt of being a failure to save someone whom he dearly cherished. He leaned his head and looked up.
Those droplets of rain continued to showered what's below the sky, including him who looked so pitiful in that narrowed alley. Those eyes were already swollen from crying. He had no more tears to pour.
His chest clenched and he felt himself slowly getting into that pitch of darkness. His lips quivered as soon as it hit his head. At this moment, the loud sound of the thunder was making him crazy, ringing thin sounds started to bang his ears and he grabbed his head.
This is the first time he totally got into his triggered state. Everything around him seemed to turn around and his throat dried up. Feeling this unexplainable thirst for blood, he gasped. He will never hurt anyone.
If there's someone he can hurt, then it's himself. It didn't matter if he die here right now. His life wasn't important anyway. The person whom he wanted to spend his life with was already dead.
"Blo–Blood.."
His lips uttered along with those tears falling down on his cheeks. He trembled and covered his mouth. He wasn't planning on crying again.
"Thirsty," He mumbled, barely audible as he muffled the sounds coming from his lips.
The throbbing pain from his chest made him choked. He coughed and spit blood, clenching fist on the ground. The sharpness in his crimson eyes didn't vanish and in that moment, footsteps echoed in his ears.
"Did you find the target?"
The wireless earphone in another man's ear vibrated before he heard the other line. "No. It seems like it escaped."
To his disappointment, he made a kick, making the water from the pouring rain splashed all over the place. He turned off the call and pinched his nose.
The man's boots gave a loud footsteps in that narrowed alley. As soon as another lightning lit the sky, he saw someone lying on the ground. He hurried and crouched down. If this is the target they've been looking around, then it will surely pay him.
However, when the man crouched down, he found this one still breathing with a pulse. He couldn't see his face since it's dark, and the rain was quite stingy to the skin. He removed his black gloves and gently tapped the unconscious guy's face.
"Hey," he called out. "What are you doing here?"
But the moment he noticed the blood flowing from its arms, he immediately removed his black coat and wrapped it around the pitiful guy. Emergencies like this need immediate help.
He pressed the wireless earphone on his ear. "Hello, this is Knox. Someone is lying unconscious here near street 6A. Send my car,"
After hearing a reply, his eyes went back to the guy who's already in his arms. The flickering lamp post near the entrance of the alley gave them a small light and he got a glimpse of the guy's face.
He is pale and his lashes were long. He got not only bruises but wounds on his arms and right leg. Luckily, he's still breathing and just lost consciousness.
Knox secured him by tightening his coat on the guy's shoulders and when they brushed against each other, he heard a whisper.
"Good, smells good."
The guy in his embrace squirmed towards him. Knox felt something sharp touching his face. He tried to move backwards but he got cornered.
The heavy rain pouring down was already making his vision blurry, so he couldn't quite see the face of this pitiful guy, who climbed on top of him.
His back hit the hard wall and he winced. "Who are–"
Another bolt of lightning struck the sky and the fading light from it illuminated those crimson irises of the man who's in front of him.
He opened his mouth and his sharp fangs found its way to Knox's neck.
"Hngh!~"
Knox immediately shuddered and the pain slowly gave him this hot feeling, like he was being burned alive. Those fangs impaling his skin reached the sides of his insanity and he started to feel this dizziness along with euphoria.
"You!"
But instead of pushing him away, Knox meets those tender crying eyes of someone who's hopeless.
The guy's cold palm caressed his cheeks and he whispered. "Please save me," before he lost consciousness.
The car he requested screeched in the entrance of the narrowed alley. It honked and 5 men in black suits immediately aided them. They grabbed the guy on top of their boss.
"Knox!" His assistant pulled his arms up with an umbrella. "What happened here?"
Seeing the guy in one of his men's arms, Knox put his attention to them. "Put him in the car, quickly!"
"Yes, boss!" They replied.
"You're bleeding!" Matthew grabbed a handkerchief from his pockets and gave it to the man.
Knox grabbed it and pressed it to his neck to stop the stinging pain from that guy's bite. "He is a vampire," he said.
They headed inside the car and at that moment Knox again felt this hot feeling that will make him connected to this mysterious vampire who bit him tonight.
