I get the power fantasy, but honestly I feel a little disappointed when the constraints of a given premise is broken just 'because'. Lion turtles giving bending makes sense, but the system giving it is somewhat distasteful. A better alternative would have been to have Aang die off within the ice, making the MC the Avatar; or him passing the spirit (for insert reason here) that makes him the Avatar to the MC. Even getting the opposing spirit (I think it's Raava) to aquire the rest of the bending.
[For the user to acquire other bending powers he can find lion turtles which won't be easy as there's barely left alive, or the user can receive bending powers by completing quests given by the system]

While having some strength to back his 'I am the strongest' attitude, he's still not committing, while laying low is fine, and advantageous even. As readers knowing both his true thoughts and seeing his actions make it feel like he is stifled, almost hypocritical even. A fish too big for the pond he's is but not strong enough to move to a bigger pool. Like wearing clothes that are too tight after warning gains from working out but you don't have the money to get new clothes that fit you. Very uncomfortable, making others think your trying to show off while lacking the casual confidence of knowing your efforts have paid off.
Got to say that the story fall back a lot this week, but maybe story is going slow right now, can't do anything evey time at the start of a new year I gotta at least show a little of of school life.

Nick has a reason for laying low, and I doubt he'd expose is full strength, might go for cunning strategy or even advanced spells but would probably prefer to keep his full accomplishments on the down low. Additionally he'd still try to win cuz of ambition and status necessity in Slytherin.
Who do you thing gonna win, remember there are a lot of factors here, like Nick can't use dark magic in front of others and he is also not using his elder wand. Without that wand, Nick is only around level 2 in power scaling. Orion is almost border line level 2 after that dragon.

Why leave evidence? Feels like it was done for plot rather than the MC actually making a mistake leaving bones around.
Some were split through the middle, others shot, a few speared and hoisted on the ground with bone-white lances. A couple had their necks twisted to grotesque angles.
