This makes some sense. The Elder can't see the future beyond her death, so she only knows the talent of those who arrived in Kamartaj before her death, but this also means that since the MC intends to come to her now she naturally knows about him and his talent.
If she already knew, the movies wouldn't have portrayed Doctor Strange as her successor. After all, wasn't Ned just as good a candidate?

Strange's problem wasn't a lack of talent, it was his mindset. Strange had trouble accepting the supernatural, while Ned was already involved in Peter's adventures and at that point the Sorcerers were already public knowledge. Also, a teen is more onpen minded
After all, considering how casually he had opened a portal in the movie, he figured that if he started studying magic now, before Ultron even came into existence, and kept learning until Thanos arrived, he could definitely deal with that "Purple Grape Titan."

The idea of the fic is good and surprisingly has few of the problems of bad Chinese fics (although it still has some) but unfortunately the story is extremely confusing. The MC, having forgotten the date, suddenly got caught up in the events of Avengers 1 and then after closing the portal he is suddenly teleported to Endgame for having given hints of the future when he met the Avengers from Endgame when they went back in time to get the scepter and the tesseract. Then the MC, together with the Avengers from Endgame, face Infinity Ultron and after winning, some small events occur and suddenly Stark is dealing with Wolverine who has just escaped from a nearby military installation and invaded Star's house to steal clothes (still in the Endgame timeline). The MC appeared less in the fic than the Avengers from the game...
