What’s with the huge skip?? Going from camping out on the way to the fort to where they are now with different people?

is this supposed to be a villian tag instead of anti hero? because he has a couple weeks before he runs out of "enemies" after that he'd have to go after non enemies. if he has to feed the shadow at most every 3 days if he doesn't use any power to shorten that time frame.
