I'm seeing so many red flags with Riftan and I'm NOT liking it ONE bit!!! He says he loves Maxi and that everything that he has been doing is for Maxi, but when you get down to it, you can move heaven and earth but if Maxi is sad and depressed at the end of it all bc Riftan is keeping her down and locked in a bird cage, then what is it all worth??? If all she is going to be good for is an outlet for his desires, a Lady for his castle, his interior decorator, and his bird in a cage, then poor Maxi will soon tire of this and begin to resent him no matter how much she may have begun to compile feelings of love and adoration for this man.
I'm starting to dislike Riftan if the reason why he doesn't like the Princess is bc she's an independent being and that's why he never considered marrying her, but not bc he was so much in love with Maxi. Also, it makes me think that the only reason that he likes Maxi is bc she'll do what he tells her to do all the time without question. That's why he started getting mad when she tried to start showing interest in doing something for herself.
