First, thank you for having read both fanfics, and for finding positives in Beyond Blue. Honestly, thank you for showing your appreciation and I’d like to give you fully fleshed out response. For me, the writer’s block comes from the abysmal ending of the manga, and trying to envision a "proper" ending without completely derailing from the story. I have the same issue every time I try to write a fanfic for Major, the baseball anime. The ending frustrates me to the point of…not even being able to properly describe what I am feeling. I do acknowledge the part about the protagonist being a fully experienced player. Over the course of writing this Persona fanfic, I've come to better understanding of my writing style specifically how I characterize my protagonist. By nature, I am rarely if ever impulsive, reckless, are all that passionate. I’m often described as calm, meticulous, and calculated. I believe that my own personality bleeds too deeply into my protagonist, and it becomes a form of mental gymnastics to characterize a fictional character while psychoanalyzing myself…If that makes any sense. A separation needs to be made between how I as the author view the world, and how the character views the world. That being said, I would love to hear any new ideas you may have. Lightsword, essentially Qui-Gon Jinn's lightsaber, but a darker color
He could forcefully extend the length of his first lightsword as a way to imitate Kippōshi's Spirit Stab, but that took time and energy. Now, with a single thought, the sword would extend from 2.5 feet to 5 feet. A valuable skill when in melee range. His gun could now shoot farther away. In theory, his targets were either too close or too big to miss, but the idea of pestering Shadows from afar to draw their attention or kiting Shadows to avoid wasting Spirit or Pneuma was too tempting.

After verifying with Kippōshi that Morgana was asleep, Akira took out the newly purchased gun and hilt. He placed his hands on both and started infusing each with Pneuma. Slowly, both took on darker colors and when the visual changes were complete, Akira stopped. Both were branded with the concept of "range".

Glad you like them. I know that many will defend the original codenames and claim that it's a reflection of the inner self. It's not that deep in my opinion. I think they tried to pick names that could be generally understood across cultures.
