"Firefly" was the original TV show. It's basically a sci-fi space western. It was created by Josh Whedon(sp?) who created the series with Buffy & Angel. FOX screwed up by cancelling it after 11 of 14 episodes aired. It even won awards! Dumb money-grubbing executives! It had, still has, a strong cult following & is still popular at the fantasy/sci-fi conventions! The creator & cast were upset that the story wasn't allowed to complete its longer story arcs. A sequel movie, "Serenity" (the ships name), provided closure. The last place I watched it was on the Sci-Fi channel. This role launched Nathan Fillion into stardom with lead roles in 2 successful TV series! Those FOX executives really should have been 'cancelled' for the mismanagement of "Firefly"!
