Honestly, there will be too many inconsistencies with the idea of making one soultriat stronger the more summons they have or the stronger their loyalty. It's already bad enough that it took him a whole full month killing tier 1 monsters and few tier 2 personally or by summoned warriors. Yet we have Niclas go from mid tier 0 to peak tier 0 in one month. If it took him four months to get to mid tier 0, how did it take him 1 month to reach peak when its supposed to cost him more energy to be absorbed? Also, this new additions like I said will lead to inconsistencies, all new Lord who have money should be overpowered at this point having 1000s of summons practicing body an breathing techniques, martial techniques and so on... While also strengthening the spilteait of the Lord. In fact, Michael should have easily lost his fight against them rather than winning if we consider all that. The rich should be able to jump 1 full tier with quality differences.
To me, his decision is terrible. I'll rather just skip the test of which benefits remains vague. All it says is benefits of resources, this can literally be earned anywhere as long as one is powerful enough. There is an urgent threat looming right in front of his base, this is more important that going for a test that will male him disappear for 2 days at least.
