Nah auothor just change that specific scene because realistically with the abilities he has he couldve stopped it way before and you already acknowledged that he had a multitude of ways to stop it yk electro bolt, telekinesis, even a fire ball or flame torrent, or he couldve just straight shot the crate with his revolver Overall in essence the way it is rn the cannon stayed intact with the only difference being instead if Vi fighting the shimmer monsters it was lukas and powder still caused the explosion when as it was already said he could have stopped it before and prevented powder from feeling like she needed to use the bomb

Im honestly surprised it took this long for thawne to reveal it to them, it just didnt make sense especially when even after derek told thawne the information he was still fighting him at every turn. Tbh derek doesnt have anything to worry about because even with this reveal nothing changes cuz derek still made barry a better speedster even if he doesn't know the exact way how, he still defeated thawne and its already clear they arent allies and derek could easily just reveal that he has information from the future and only told thawne to thwart him and didnt tell the team because it would jeopardize them.
