I haven't read much of this yet but I noticed one difference of this novel from other cuttlefish's works or most novels in general, this is, they do not show us the thought process of the main character like in throne of magical arcana or Lord of mysteries, they do show us what the mc is thinking, planning or what he knows. Whereas they show us the thought processes of the side charas. I think this makes it a little difficult for us to relate with the mc, I guess I would say this doesn't bring as much excitement when mc does something successfully although the story development, world building and character development of other people are very well written. that's it from me☺

really? I don't think it's the same author because the writing is very different. MHOH's author only writes horrors and the worldbuilding is not on par with cuttlefish's. I'd say I highly recommend this novel for horror junkies, it's an amazingly satisfying read even for me who's not really into horror or mystery so much. it's a startingly original concept, well written ,nothing is forgotten or badly resolved ,a lot of good comedy at the right time.its a great read ,especially if you read it at night under your covers with the light turned off😌 although I heard the novel was temporarily banned/taken off/censored by the Chinese authorities... apparently because supernatural/ghost themes are frowned upon in Chinese media. It was reinstated under the premise that author provide "scientific explanations"... I don't wanna jinx it but I doubt the novel can maintain it's level of quality after chapter 600++. I've read some comments about the quality going downhill after 800+ chs. Anyway I'm still at ch 300 so let's see how it goes.

I see, I recently reread this novel after a long time. btw I'm reading my 'house of horrors' now. I haven't read more of cuttlefish's works but I was kinda interested in throne of magical arcana and embers ad infinitum. embers ad infinitum is on my list next since the author wrote this after lotm , writing must've been as good as lotm so
