Emelia felt her heart quaver as more, and more, and more tendrils of darkness manifested in the room around her. There must have been hundreds, perhaps thousands, far too many for her to defend against. As if to taunt the Nameless, the tendrils bobbed and waved like blades of long grass in a non-existent breeze. The Shadow was demonstrating her total control over this forest of darkness.

Then another area just like it. Then another. And another. Another. Another. Another. Another. Another. More and more until she was no longer sure just how many they'd been through. They were shown vast forges that filled entire caverns, an army of ants hammering away at the metal, producing specialised equipment, armour, rings, weapons. Room after room of enchanters hard at work, chests full of cores coming in a constant stream to fuel their endeavours.

do you think they meant to use writhe here or use rife? cause rife makes more sense to me, but it could also just be because I'm not overly familiar with the word writhe. however, I find that the definition of writhe is not what was intended in the context of "with glee." but rather that rife suits the context of the sentence better.
