Well, since Sukuna can heal his soul I.e. keep it in the shape its supposed to be and the soul affects the body, I'd reckon that healing would be far easier if he wasn't being hit on the soul level so Gojo's damage would've been minimal. This is though If we take Mahito's statements to their logical conclusion.
