At least, you have given arguments and ideas on how to simplify the portal creation. It’s probably even the idea behind the MCU’s ‘sling-ring’. As you said, it is my story and although your idea as some merit, I feel it’s a little late now to introduce the concept. Although… I guess he could create the mini-arcane computer himself… I’ll think about it ! Still, a little remark. A SIMPLE portal spell ? . Again you’ll tell that I insist on logic for fictional worlds and stuff, but bending space in a way to connect 2 different places by a portal is NOT simple. I’m mostly using the fandom when I don’t know something about Marvel comics but I don’t believe they’re used all that much in them either, right ? Not all sorcerers can use them. At least, I don’t think. Personally, I’d feel it’s an easy and lazy solution for the MC to react, or solve his problems… In addition to my personal dislike of throwing logic out the window because it’s inconvenient. Don’t get me wrong. I love OP characters and stories with OP characters who solve problems with a snap of their fingers. For some reason, I don’t really like writing them however… No idea why.

That’s actually not a bad choice either. But I was thinking about Parapsychology and how it’s regarded… which is why I didn’t go this route. Still, now that you say it, it would have also been a good choice.

Because Meta comes from the Greek which can mean « with, across or after ». With and across don’t make sense in this instance. That leaves after. After-human. It’s like saying : « we’re replacing you. » The same for Homo Superior.

That’s… a good point. Even better reason for him to screen the testers thoroughly. Perhaps he’ll add safety features like « they think they’re just dreams » or « they don’t remember when they wake up ».
But it raises two problems. One, how to make people dream my ads ? Psychic power or magic is the best way for that, of course. Unfortunately, I don't have the mastery and control required for it. Especially if I have to pay attention to what I'll make people dream. I also don't want to advertise to people one by one. I want to do it on a larger scale. A few dozens, maybe hundreds a night… Can't go much beyond New York though, since that's where the store will based out off.

Good question. Since he’s hesitant in becoming a hero he hasn’t settled on one. On a more personal note, I still haven’t thought of one that I really like. The Artist, the Author, Ink-Boy or Man, Squid-Man…? If you can think of a good one, I may use it ;)

That’s actually a good idea… I think that, in the back of my mind, I was thinking that there were also advantages to not having bones.
So, we each head for the bathrooms to find that… people are stupidly hiding in them. As if the small stalls would protect them. It reminds me of a dog in my last life that always hid under a desk when there was too much noise outside, like a storm or strong winds. I sigh and leave in search of something else… And spot an empty classroom from the small window on the door. I enter and quickly use my changing 'spell'. To call it a spell is too much ; It's more like a password, really. Then again, incantation magic works like this mostly. It uses the words, syntax and phrases to give shape to a spell.

No problem. To be honest, the first time I read it, I kinda did. Take it badly, I mean. Then, later I went back to read it again. As I said, you gave a compelling reason for how the sling ring works in the mcu. It didn’t make much sense to me how it worked or why you couldn’t get out of the mirror dimension without one… but then, with your idea of a ring acting as a computer to assist in the calculations, it suddenly made a lot more sense. I haven’t introduced the rings in the story yet (at least that I recall) and I don’t know if I will. But if I do, I think it’ll be the MC creating them. Because otherwise, why wouldn’t he use them before ? Still, he’s still learning, building his own reality and discovering, coding and working out more of what he can accomplish with his powers. So, if I do, it’ll probably be a while.
