Unfortunately i actually think this was necessary the real good points of story are always the growth process and overcoming obsticules. Being an OP MC is only fun to read for so long, it gets boring real fast.
I think your doing good, you seem into world building and setting up exposition still so it would only make sense that it would take a while for to heat up.
