This was why Medici didn't use extraordinary abilities during his test with Lynn. As two mythical creature children, they might be high and mighty to mortals, but if they caused a commotion and attracted an ancient god or a Sequence 1, they'd be free extraordinary characteristics for the taking. Moreover, a Weather Warlock wouldn't necessarily win in close combat against a Sage, nor would using extraordinary abilities help much.
