So idea, about magic circuits. Sorry for english. If i remember correctly magic circuits is some sort of mutation that could be inherited, maybe divine lineage work in similiar fashion or some sort of reaction occurs that creates magic circuits, and when "divinity" in blood becomes weaker so the circuits. The king solomon who invented modern magecraft if i am correct. Maybe he found the way to stop the weakening of circuits by thinner divine blessing. The ars goetia being ritual to look after humans maybe it have function to negate thinning of circuits as divinty goes away. That would explain why in the age of gods you needed divine lineage or blessing and Solomon allowing via ars goetia use without divine blood. But just a theory.
