usually it's best that you follow ur own plan. however, I think u should take inspiration from other works, for example, the world right now seems grim dark, so it reminds me a lot of wh40k, specially since humans were once a proud civilization that has fallen by numerous enemies. so maybe taking inspiration from similar works. personal I'd like a story where humans climb their way up to the top after after facing insurmountable odds. I would like to read more first.
