Great chapther and don't change how you write because a lot of writers quit writing because they let others contol the how the nocel is going to turn out and stop writing because it's not their story anymore and writing it becomes a chore so great choise not to change they story because people say so.
I think that you should decide becuase otherwise you can lose control over the direction you want to write and you might not be satisfied with how the story turned out and quit writing this becuase you don't enjoy writing this anymore becuse it does not feel like your story anymore.
I don't know why but I feel like a tragedy will happen. Probaly not but a have feeling it will. Don't know why but probaly becuase it feels like a lot of foreshadowing

i don't know if you are serious but he is spending his time writting this for other people and want to see if he can reason the time he is spending on writting with some monetery means and that is ok and will probably motivate him to write more and improve.
