Is this the end of the book? I hope not.
A somewhat rushed novel with a somewhat simple plot, but nevertheless fun and entertaining and certainly worth reading.......................................

"Rome does not pay traitors."
One by one, the Omertas' leaders collapsed to the floor, writhing in their own vomit, choking as the poison took hold. Their grotesque celebration of betrayal ended in convulsions, their pride and arrogance snuffed out by the death crawling from within them. When it was over, the room fell silent save for the last spasms of their dying bodies. I looked to my officers, and they looked to me. No words were exchanged; none were needed. This was justice—not for what they had done to House, but for what they represented. A cancer that had to be excised.

If Caesar is Caesar, Lanius is Mark Antony, Gaius is a mix of Augustus and Brutus, I am missing a Cleopatra and the question arises as to whether he will be stabbed by the senators.

Dear author, I say this as constructive criticism, and I don't mean to offend in any way, but the story is absurdly slow, 50 chapters for the confrontation in the library and the different characters talking about what happened, many times the conversations are repetitive and they go back to the same thing over and over again from different points of view. In any case, thank you for the chapter and for this great novel.
