"Duke Ashford, I've heard of your great accomplishments! This time, you didn't leave the bandits any way out!" The king of the Taica Kingdom was full of praise. He was a man in his fifties with a belly as if he was hiding his twin in there.

Seated on the high platform, the monarch was looking down on them this whole time. On his right was the place reserved for Princess Cordelia, his most beloved child and likely the next heir to the throne. Unlike the Rowan Kingdom, women could sit on the throne just like anyone else, while the position of the queen was undesirable.

It was a country with deep rotted polygamy for the royal lineage, the harem was so full that no one knew how many women were residing there. It wasn't important whether they were wedded or not, all the children of the king, whether from the official marriage or the lover from the street, enjoyed the same status.

That's it if they could survive till maturity.
