It was now the day of the battle, Yamato wore her Wano outfit and placed [ Wailing Dark ] on her waist while mentally preparing herself for the upcoming battle. Three days was enough for news of someone challenging an heir from a Devil Noble household, especially Phenec who held a large influence due to their phoenix tears that were capable of healing even the fatalities wounds.
Many were wondering who this person was and how arrogant they can be to outright defy a high ranking devil on a rating game! It was laughable and the arrogant devil who sits on their privilege chair is unaware of what's to come.
They have a superiority complex believing they are entitled to be at the pinnacle of every race. If we consider who's currently the strongest faction when removing the Maou's then it would be the Fallen Angel faction due to their higher population.
"Are you ready?" Grayfia appeared in ORC having waited for her and Yamato glanced at her woman who didn't doubt that she won't win due to the fact that her full capabilities are a complete mystery. She placed her hand on the end of her sword and nodded.
"Bring it on."
Yamato said before Grayfia took them to where the fight was going to be held where it was banquet hall filled with noblemen and woman noticed their gaze immediately went scornful and disdain that irritate her lover especially Koneko who has let go of her hate of being Nekoshou and proudly use senjutsu allowing her to sense more clearly than before.
Yamato patted the nekoshou glancing at the people that she recognized as key figures and someone who were introduced to the main story.
"So you're my so-tan fiance!?" She noticed a short young woman with massive breast and twin tail hair. Her demeanor seems childish but inwardly there depths of trauma buried deep within. Yamato could feel that this antic is a facade.
"Onee-sama. Please don't start a commotion here." Sona feels annoyed and blushing a bit seeing her older sister confront her lover.
"Onee-sama? Oh your Sona's older sister huh? My elder sister-in-law?" Yamato teased the leviathan who looked annoyed and scoffed.
"Humph! Don't call me that! I can't accept someone taking my so-tan from me! You have to fight me before you can get So-tan!" Serafall proclaimed and this embarrassed Sona even further while Yamato chuckled.
"You should relax, dear. It's already been decided that whoever defeats our Sona in chess will be her fiance." The one who spoke appeared to be a middle aged man who looked like a good natured person.
"Though, it may cause an issue for the next in line." The one who spoke also appeared to be an older Sona with longer hair and a bustier body.
"I am the lord of the Sitri Household and Sona's father, Arik Sitri."
"I am Lady of the Sitri Household and Sona's mother, Levana Sitri."
"Nice to meet you☆. I am the Maou Serafall Leviathan☆. Call me Levia-tan☆"
The Sitri family introduced themselves, then footsteps were heard and Yamato turned to see familiar faces.
"So you're the one who intends to fight for my Rias?" A crimson-haired man with a goatee spoke inspecting Yamato, finding it odd for her daughter to have a close relationship with another woman.
"You're mistaken. I am not doing this simply for her. But I intend to show my power and use this as a stepping stone to rise to the top." Yamato said with utmost honesty where this infuriated the devil's around him.
"How bold. Do you understand the consequences of your action in this event?" The one who spoke who appeared if Rias was a man with a slightly paler shade of crimson hair.
"I am." Yamato spoke with simple words and the man looked at her with great interest.
"Is that confident or arrogant? Aren't you being too conceited?" The one who spoke was a gorgeous woman with brown hair similar in style as Rias. She has a stern yet motherly demeanor exuding from her.
"I know my capabilities and I trust them completely." Yamato answered back, getting a good impression of them. She knows that the women were Rias's parents. It does sound appealing to have Venelana but she isn't into stealing a person's spouse.
*Ah, where are our manners? I am Zeoticus Gremory, Lord of Gremory household."
"I am Venelana Gremory and it's a pleasure to meet you."
"I am Sirzech Lucifer, it's nice to meet you." They introduced themselves and Yamato nodded, giving a light bow.
"It's a pleasure to meet the parents of my girlfriends and Fiance. I am Yamato Kozuki, a Hanyo, a half oni to be precise." Yamato introduces herself and Sirzech is clearly intrigued.
"A Hanyo? I see. Well, let's have a chat later after the battle." Sirzechs said as he gestured for her to follow where Yamato saw the Phenex with their family of the Phenex Household.
"We are all gathered here today to witness the battle between Yamato Kozuki and Riser Phenex in a Rating game." Sirzechs said, getting everyone's attention.
"Now then, combatants get ready. You have 5 minutes to prepare inside." Sirzech said as the combatant looked at each other with Riser still smug while Yamato remained neutral, more distracted to the people around her.
'I can see Latia Astaroth with Ajuka Beelzebub while there's also Seekvaira and her family. If I'm not wrong, that should be Sairaorg bael…he's strong.'
Yamato saw the Devil youth who were supposed to gather in the youth gathering in the future were now about to witness the battle. She had been carefully observing everyone and found many things.
First, the Phenex weren't mad at her intervention and clearly knew what kind of person their son is and needed someone to make him up. It's likely the decision of the marriage was made by the higher ups between Zekram and whoever controlling the Phenex.
Second was Sairaorg and how overwhelmingly strong he was compared to people his age. He could be even stronger if he's aware of Haki and Battlewill.
Third was that the Maou like Sirzechs and Serfall act eccentric due to the fact it is a way for them to cope with their trauma from the past when they fought during the civil war.
Yamato felt great sadness and grief within their heart that this act was a way for them to hide. She inwardly sighs glancing at Serafall who notices her gaze and her scowled turn into confusion.
'Why is she looking at me like that?' Serafall felt confused as if she had been seen through and wondered what was that.
Soon, Yamato and Riser find themselves in the Kuoh Academy having made a pocket dimension.
Everyone saw Riser simply sit and relax letting Ravel form the plan while Yamato also sat down currently thinking.
"How well do you think this Kozuki would fare against Riser?" Venelana asked her daughter considering her freedom was on the line.
"It's unfortunately but It's going to be one-sided." Rias narrowed her gaze looking at her lover and Venelana noticed the tone and gaze that her daughter had while Zeoticus had misunderstood her daughter's words.
"I see. She must really have genuine feelings for you to be sacrfi—" Before he could finish was interrupted by Yamato.
"No, I mean it's a one-sided slaughter for Riser." Rias words confuses them wondering what she meant by that turning their eyes to the screen had their jaws slacked open.
"Is that…who I think it is?" Zeoticus saw none other than Tiamat, the Chaos Karma Dragon that made everyone devil stiffened upon seeing this.
Even how prideful the devil were, they know their limit and seeing Tiamat cause their faces to pale.
"Lady Tiamat? Why is she there?" Venelana asked her daughter and she quickly answered.
"That's because she was Yamato's Familiar." This shocked everyone to the core where it is common knowledge that in order for Tiamat to be contracted as familiar needed to be stronger than her.
Victory was certain. Even the Phenex saw this couldn't help but feel anxious realizing they challenge the wrong person.
"So that girl is strong? I wonder if I could fight her." Sairaorg's battle maniac tendency was quickly reprimanded by his peerage.
Meanwhile, many eyes were eager to see the conclusion with some wanting to gain a close relationship towards Yamato while others were spiteful. They disapproved that an outsider was interfering in the affairs of the Devils.
Inside the stage, Yamato summoned more of his familiar, bringing Mio and Tomoe alongside Tiamat.
"Alright, time to beat this guy's ass!" Tomoe unsheathed her Katana while Mio covered her face with her fan.
"Let's give them hell. Oh wait, we are already in hell." She giggled while both flexed their energy causing the place they were in to violently shake. Both have the power of a peak Ultimate class close to dragon King level.
"I almost pity this little devil but I need to listen to what my mate commands." Tiamat commented as flexes her power with the trio shrouded in their own colored aura as Yamato grinned unsheathing her sword as well.
"Remember not to kill anyone." Yamato reminded them. She doesn't want to kill anyone even if Riser is an asshole doesn't mean he needs to die especially how he matured in the future even gave Rias advice.
They immediately vanish from where their spot appears on top of the Occult research club building.
The group spotted their target, but before they could fully register her presence, Tomoe appeared in a blur, positioning herself between them with lethal precision. Her blade flashed through the air, catching the first pawn off-guard, the sharp swing landing before he even realized he'd been attacked.
The others barely had time to react as she spun, her movements a perfect balance of speed and grace. Each strike was decisive, a mere whisper of steel as her sword carved through defenses and armor effortlessly. They staggered, unable to keep up with her rapid assault, and one by one, they fell, each too slow, too weak, to match her power.
As the last opponent collapsed, Tomoe let out a lighthearted chuckle, casually flicking her sword to shake off the dust.
"Well, that was light work," she remarked, her voice carrying a carefree tone as if the fight had been no more than a warm-up. With a satisfied smile, she sheathed her blade, standing victorious and unscathed, surrounded by her defeated foes.
Just as Tomoe relaxed, a faint rustling caught her attention. She glanced up to find two more opponents approaching—their imposing forms unmistakable. These were Rooks from Riser's peerage, powerful women with an aura of fierce confidence.
Unlike the pawns, these two were clearly more skilled, their stances solid and their eyes fixed on her with a steely focus that hinted they wouldn't go down as easily.
Tomoe smirked, a spark of excitement flashing in her eyes.
"Looks like I missed a couple of you," she said, her tone still carefree as she shifted into a ready stance.
The first Rook charged with remarkable speed, throwing a heavy punch that would've shattered stone.
But Tomoe sidestepped with ease, her blade slicing past her opponent's defenses and drawing a swift line across her defense. Before the Rook could even react to the sting, Tomoe spun behind her, delivering a precise strike that forced her to her knees.
The second Rook, seeing her comrade falter, let out a determined cry and lunged, attempting to catch Tomoe off guard with a sweeping kick.
Tomoe danced backward, evading it gracefully, then dashed forward in a blur, her sword arcing toward her opponent. Her blade met the Rook's defense, and with a single, powerful strike, she broke through, sending her staggering backward.
Both Rooks struggled to regain their footing, but Tomoe was already poised for her next move. In two swift strikes, they fell to the ground, defeated, barely comprehending the speed and skill that had overwhelmed them.
With a satisfied grin, Tomoe sheathed her sword once more, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"I guess Rooks aren't all that tough after all," she remarked casually, almost as if she were making a mental note, before turning to continue her path forward, leaving her fallen opponents behind without a second glance.
Not far from where Tomoe's battle had ended, Mio stepped into the clearing, her gaze falling on a Knight from Riser's peerage who was armed and ready.
The Knight took a defensive stance, eyeing Mio with a mixture of caution and determination. But Mio's expression remained flat, her monotone voice drifting out as she tilted her head slightly.
"Oh, are you going to put up a fight?" she murmured, almost as if talking to herself. A faint, unsettling smile tugged at the corners of her mouth.
"I wonder if my master will reward me nicely for this."
The Knight lunged forward, sword raised, but Mio sidestepped effortlessly, her movements languid yet precise.
She reached out with a delicate hand, tracing the tip of her finger along the Knight's sword arm, her touch barely a whisper against the armor. Her smile widened as she watched her opponent tense up, unnerved by the casual, almost playful approach.
Before the Knight could react, Mio struck, a swift blow that left her opponent staggered and gasping. She giggled softly, though the sound held no warmth.
"Is that all? I was hoping you'd last a little longer," she murmured, her tone tinged with mock disappointment.
As the Knight tried to regain composure and strike again, Mio easily dodged and closed in, her movements a dance of eerie precision.
Each of her attacks was perfectly timed, her expression never changing as she dismantled her opponent's defenses with sadistic glee, drawing out the fight just long enough to savor every moment.
Finally, as the Knight fell to the ground, defeated, Mio sighed, brushing off her hands as if she'd simply finished a chore.
"That was almost fun," she said in her flat, monotonous tone.
"I hope my master is pleased with my work," she added thoughtfully, before turning away, a hint of satisfaction in her eyes as she left her fallen opponent in the dust.
After leaving the defeated Knight behind, Mio continued onward, her expression still blank, though a glimmer of excitement flickered in her eyes as she noticed two Pawns cautiously approaching. They looked wary, clearly having witnessed what she had done to their comrade, yet determined to stand their ground.
Mio tilted her head, her voice slipping out in a flat tone, almost like a bored observation.
"Two little Pawns? I suppose this could be fun." Her lips curved into a slight, almost sinister smile.
"I wonder if my master will be impressed with me if I finish you both quickly… or if I should take my time."
One of the Pawns rushed forward, trying to catch her off guard with a quick jab. But Mio sidestepped with ease, her expression unchanging as she reached out and flicked the Pawn on the forehead, sending him stumbling backward.
"You're too slow," she sighed, her voice carrying a hint of disappointment.
"Is this all you have?"
The second Pawn, trying to take advantage of the moment, came at her from behind with a wide swing. Mio, without even turning her head, ducked and swept her leg out, sending him crashing to the ground. She looked down at him, her smile widening just a touch, though her eyes remained cold.
"Oh, did that hurt? You poor thing," she mocked in her deadpan voice, sounding almost sympathetic—but only almost.
The first Pawn staggered back to his feet and charged at her again, his movements clumsy in his frustration. Mio sighed, almost lazily, then struck with swift precision, bringing him down in a single, calculated blow. She then turned back to the second Pawn, who was still struggling to rise, and crouched down beside him, her face uncomfortably close to his.
"You were both so weak," she whispered, almost as if sharing a secret.
"But maybe my master will reward me for being so… merciful." Her tone dripped with false kindness as she straightened up, brushing off her clothes.
As she walked away from the two defeated Pawns, she let out a small, thoughtful hum, already imagining how her master might react to her 'work.'
Meanwhile, Riser clenched his fists as the announcement echoed across the field, each name of his defeated peerage members ringing out like a taunt.
He was positioned far from the battlefield, unable to see the battle unfold himself, but the ongoing announcements painted a grim picture. One after another, his pawns, knights, and rooks were being eliminated, each loss chipping away at his patience and pride.
He couldn't fathom how his opponent possessed not only Tiamat—a legendary dragon, no less—but also two other familiars rumored to hold powers on par with peak ultimate class.
Though he wasn't fully aware of their capabilities, the devastating ease with which his peerage had been defeated spoke volumes: these opponents were in a league beyond anything he had anticipated.
Unable to bear the humiliation any longer, Riser shot up, his frustration blazing into fury.
"That's enough!" he shouted, storming forward. His queen, Yubelluna, immediately fell in step behind him, her face showing a flicker of concern as she tried to keep up.
Just then, his younger sister Ravel hurried to intercept him, calling out,
"Brother, please! Charging in alone won't change anything—"
But Riser cut her off, his tone sharp and laced with anger.
"Your plan failed us, Ravel! You promised this strategy would secure our victory, and now look!" He gestured back toward the battlefield, the frustration clear in his clenched fists.
"I'm taking matters into my own hands."
Ravel hesitated, a pained expression crossing her face, but she knew better than to push back when he was in this mood. With a reluctant nod, she fell in line behind him, her gaze fixed on the ground, unable to argue further.
Yubelluna, ever attuned to Riser's moods, exchanged a brief, worried glance with Ravel. She knew questioning Riser's decision now would be pointless, so instead, she tightened her grip on her staff, preparing herself mentally for the confrontation ahead.
As they advanced, Riser's eyes gleamed with fierce determination. He was a Phenex, after all, and he refused to let his opponents humiliate him like this. No matter how powerful these mysterious enemies were, he was determined to remind them of the Phenex family's strength.
The trio hadn't gotten far when they came face-to-face with the one they sought. Yamato stood before them, her demeanor calm and self-assured, her hand resting lightly on the hilt of her odachi, Wailing Dark.
The weapon, sleek and ominous, pulsed faintly as if it were alive, its blade with the ability to extend and strike from unexpected distances. Beside her loomed Tiamat, her imposing presence radiating an aura of raw, restrained power. Riser glared at Yamato, his anger flaring.
"You're going to pay for what you have done!" he snapped.
"I'm going to show you the power of a Phenex!" Yamato merely laughed, her tone laced with mock amusement.
"Oh, I look forward to it," she replied, glancing at Tiamat with a smirk.
"Tiamat, start digging a few graves. This might not take long."
Riser's face flushed with rage, and he lunged forward, flames crackling around him as he launched an attack. But before he could reach her, Yamato moved, her katana flashing out to intercept him.
The clash of their powers filled the air as they locked into a fierce, fast-paced battle, Yamato's laughter punctuating each of Riser's frustrated strikes.
"Let's see just how strong this Phenex power really is," she taunted, her tone light yet deadly.
Meanwhile, Tiamat's gaze shifted to Riser's queen and sister, her lips curling into a pleased smile.
"Guess that means you're mine, then," she said, stepping toward them with an unnerving calm.
Yubelluna squared her shoulders, determined to fight with every bit of power she had, despite the vast difference in their strength. She launched a volley of magical explosions, each blast lighting up the air around Tiamat.
Tiamat skillfully deflected them, barely putting in any effort, though she allowed Yubelluna some ground, as if humoring her. For Yubelluna, it was a matter of pride; she knew she couldn't win, but she would fight with honor until the very end.
Ravel, her expression firm, joined the fray, summoning hellfire and hurling it at Tiamat in an attempt to assist Yubelluna.
The flames roared toward the dragon, who barely blinked, a hint of amusement flickering in her eyes. With a casual wave of her hand, Tiamat deflected the flames, letting them dissipate harmlessly around her.
"Is that all you've got?" Tiamat asked, her tone teasing as she continued to hold back, though her power radiated dangerously close to the surface. She looked over at Yamato, who was still locked in a heated exchange with Riser, a smirk on her face.
"Do try to keep this interesting."
Despite the overwhelming difference in strength, Yubelluna and Ravel refused to give up. Yubelluna met Tiamat's gaze with fierce determination, bracing herself as she prepared another attack, knowing she would lose but intent on making it a loss worth remembering.
Riser lunged at Yamato, flames blazing around him, his attacks fueled by his mounting fury. Yet, Yamato met each strike with a casual parry, her expression almost bored as she moved with effortless grace, dodging and countering his blows. Her eyes sparkled with amusement as she watched Riser grow increasingly frustrated, a smirk tugging at her lips.
"Is this really all you've got, Phenex?" she taunted, sidestepping yet another fiery strike.
"I expected more."
Riser's face contorted with anger.
"Do you even realize what you're doing?" he shouted, his voice trembling with rage.
"If you win, you'll ruin everything! The future of the devil faction rests on this union—you're destroying it all!"
Yamato merely chuckled, her tone flippant.
"Good thing I'm not a devil, then," she replied, twirling Wailing Dark with a flick of her wrist.
"I couldn't care less about your politics or your alliances. The only thing I care about is Rias—and how she feels about this ridiculous arrangement."
Her words cut through him as much as her blade, and Riser's face turned red, his fists clenching tighter as his flames surged.
"You're a fool!" he spat, renewing his assault with a series of slashes, each one more desperate than the last.
"I'm immortal! You can't kill me—you can't stop me!"
Yamato rolled her eyes, barely acknowledging his rant as she blocked his attacks, each strike forcing him to regenerate repeatedly.
She kept up the relentless pace, watching with detached interest as he started to slow, his breaths coming harder and his flames flickering weaker. She knew his regeneration would ultimately drain his stamina, but she wasn't in any hurry.
Finally, Riser's movements grew sluggish, his flames dwindling as the strain of constant regeneration wore him down.
He staggered, his body visibly weakened, and Yamato took the opportunity to end it. With one swift, decisive strike, she disarmed him, her blade poised at his throat.
Riser's chest heaved as he glared up at her, defeated but defiant. Yamato gave him a cold, calculating look, her smirk widening.
"Immortal or not, you're still a sore loser," she said, her tone laced with mock sympathy.
Riser stumbled back, forced to admit his defeat, as Yamato lowered her katana, looking as calm and unbothered as when the fight had begun. He had been completely outmatched, his pride and power shattered.
[ Winner: Yamato Kozuki! ]
