Kapitel 70: Chapter 70: The Brave Boy

Clark stored the suspected secret manual and looked around to ensure there were no other gains before pulling out his failed Pym Particle handgun again.

With a "Biu!" he easily completed the task of destroying the body and evidence.

Picking up the Ruyi Jingu Bang, now covered in the gambler's blood and brain matter, and cleaning it on a nearby ninja's corpse, he then turned to leave the room, which he had demolished.

Placing the urgently needed-to-be-cleaned Ruyi Jingu Bang, the newly acquired dragon bones

and the booklet that might or might not be a martial arts secret manual into the metal box, and then shrinking the box to carry away, Clark turned to look towards Hawkeye.

At that moment, Punisher spoke up: "I don't care what your relationship with this person was. He was guilty and deserved to die."

After a pause, he coldly added, "Moreover, he wanted to kill you!"

Hawkeye, somewhat numbly, replied, "But he was still my brother."

"If he had wanted to kill me, he only needed to step half a step closer when he attacked earlier. I, completely unguarded at that moment, would have had no chance to dodge his first strike."

Though Hawkeye spoke these words, he did not confront Punisher with hostility, but instead turned back silently, looking at Clark, who was about to carry out the task of destroying the bodies with the Pym Particle gun, and said in a deep voice, "I want to take his body and give him a proper burial."

Clark showed an awkward smile and put away the Pym Particle gun, "Of course, of course, haha..."

"Clark." At that moment, Daredevil had risen from the ruins and pointed towards a door behind a pile of finished product boxes on the first floor of the factory, saying, "There seems to be someone behind that door, and from the sounds of it, they seem to be children."

Upon hearing Daredevil's words, everyone's attention was drawn.

Clark, upon hearing Daredevil mention it, also noticed the noise and was the first to rush over. With a swing of his banner, he swept the boxes blocking the path aside, revealing two thick black metal doors behind them.

As the noise of the boxes falling subsided, Clark could faintly hear the sound of children sobbing behind the door.

With a flick of his banner, he wrapped the door's lock and pulled forcefully...

With a "snap," the thick lock and the bolt welded to the door were torn off, flying far away.

As the heavy metal doors were slowly opened with a grating sound, sunlight poured in, illuminating about twenty panic-stricken children inside the dark room, as if they had seen the light and hope along with a tall silhouette outlined by the sunlight.

Scanning the dim room, it was filled with young boys of various ages, the oldest not much older than Mindy, including white, black, and even two Asian children, igniting a nameless rage in Clark, wishing he could revive the villains just to kill them again.

Among these children, a black boy standing at the door, eyes sparkling with admiration towards Clark, caught everyone's attention.

Seeing the door violently opened, while other children retreated in fear and cried, this black boy excitedly asked Clark, "Mister, are you here to rescue us?"

Clark gently nodded in response to the black boy's question and assured all the children in the room, "The bad guys are all gone. It's safe now."

The black boy cheered in response, his words not in English but sounding more like Mandarin Chinese, saying "It's over."

Before Clark could inquire further about what he meant, the other members of the Avengers gathered around. Seeing the children locked up in the room, Daredevil was the first to speak, "The Hand really are scum, not even sparing children!"

Clark frowned and muttered, "What did they want with so many children?"

"The bad guys wanted to use our blood for their longevity." As everyone pondered, the bold black boy explained their situation: "I overheard them a few days ago, saying they needed our blood, along with something called dragon bones, to heal someone named Madame Gao."

This drew everyone's attention to the black boy, who shook his head, "As for what these dragon bones and Madame Gao are, I'm not sure."

Punisher scoffed at this point, turning to Hawkeye, who was holding Barney's body, "Do you still think my actions were wrong?"

Hawkeye lowered his head, lost in thought.

Then, the black boy's gaze fell on the banner in Clark's hand, and he curiously asked, "Mister, what's this red cloth you're holding? Is it a piece of clothing?"

"No, it's my weapon," Clark patiently explained, feeling a sense of fondness for the brave boy. "Its form isn't fixed; it can be a sword or a spear, versatile and infinitely useful." He demonstrated with a flourish.

His demonstration was more to ease the tension between Hawkeye and Punisher than to entertain the boy.

The boy, oblivious to these nuances, was fascinated by the banner, suddenly pointing to the golden characters "Miraculous Recovery" on it and asking, "Mister, what do these words mean?"

Clark explained casually, "It means 'Miraculous Recovery,' implying that the nature of a powerful weapon depends on its wielder. It can be used to kill or to save."

Daredevil then asked the others, "What should we do with these children?"

Punisher checked his phone, "I've already messaged Nick Fury. S.H.I.E.L.D. should be here soon to take care of them. But we should leave before they arrive."

Everyone nodded in agreement. Clark then draped the banner over the black boy like a cape, tying it around his neck, making it look like a red cape. He smiled and said, "You're very brave. This is for you."

Wearing the "cape," the boy felt like a hero, clenched his fists, crossed them over his chest, and solemnly bowed to Clark.

"Thank you, mister. When I grow up, I want to be a great hero like you!"
